Thank you for sending me to the 2013 American Legion Auxiliary Girls State. It was an opportunity unlike any another. I met so many amazing girls that are the hope and security of our future.

Every girl I met had a mile long list of achievements and credentials but an even longer list of goals. Each incredible individual had big hopes and dreams and most of the tools to achieve them; Girls State helped to complete that tool box.  

Girls State gave us a voice in our government by giving us a better understanding of how it works. It was an opportunity that empowered girls by giving each of us a voice.
