It’s time for the people to stand up, be counted and participate in the process by exercising their right to vote in the Homer City Council run-off election that will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The voter turnout exhibited on Oct. 6 was poor at best when it came to electing two candidates for 3-year terms to the city council, as only 27 percent of Homer’s citizens accepted their civic duty to cast ballots in what has become one of the most important city council races in years.
If you really care about responsible municipal leadership, a balanced city budget and fiscal responsibility, isn’t it time you decided to participate in the process by becoming part of the solution? Remember, if you always do what you always did, you’ll always get what you always got.
