Dias named November Phoenix Award recipient

The November recipient of the Homer Flex High School Phoenix Award is Sophia Dias.

Each month, the school staff choose a student to receive the Homer Flex Phoenix Award based on their embodiment of the school’s values: respect, productivity and ownership.

Dias, a Homer Flex sophomore, is a hardworking and conscientious member of Flex. Quick to help and advocate for their peers, they are a valuable member of not only our school, but also our community. Dias is dedicated to their academics, which shows in their strong academic work. Dias is kind and compassionate, and their willingness to work with anyone helps those around them feel included. They regularly invest their time in service to the community, especially at the REC Room. Dias demonstrates a willingness to speak out against injustice, and uses their voice in a positive way to instigate social change. We are proud to have them as a member of our Flex Family.
