Homer High School’s Drama, Debate and Forensices (DDF) team competed in Chugiak over the weekend of Oct. 22, placing in a total of 10 categories. Placing were:
• Lauren Jones and Zane Boyer — first place, Duet Acting;
• Landon Bunting — first place, Pantomime;
• Johanna Allen — second place, Dramatic Interpretation;
• Lauren Jones and Landon Bunting — second place, Duo Interpretation;
• Chloë Pleznac, Galen Lyon and Asa Panarelli — third place, Pantomime;
• Eryn Gillam — third place, Dramatic Interpretation;
• Zane Boyer — fourth place, Humorous Interpretation;
• Eryn Gillam and Drew Wimmerstedt — fifth place, Duet Acting;
• Ciara Jones and Katarina Hockema — fifth place, Pantomime; and
• Chloë Pleznac, Galen Lyon, Asa Panarelli and Zane Boyer — sixth place, Readers’ Theatre.

staff vote to ratify contract
The approximate 1,174 members of the Kenai Peninsula Educational Association and the Kenai Peninsula Educational Support Association voted over the course of the last three weeks on whether to ratify the tentative contract reached Sept. 7, the result of nearly 18 months of collective bargaining and an arbitration process.
