A Sterling Highway collision last week led to two people being arrested and another hospitalized with “life-threatening injuries,” according to a dispatch from Alaska State Troopers.

The dispatch says that around 8 p.m. July 25, Soldotna-based troopers responded to a report of a collision near Mile 115 of the highway, between Kasilof and Clam Gulch. They found that a 2017 Audi Q7 had pulled off Tolum Drive without stopping and in front of a 2016 Coachman Freelander Class-C motorhome.

The Audi had two occupants. The driver, Krystof Milos, is a 39-year-old Anchorage resident. The passenger was Kiana Hicks-Patrick, a 24-year-old also of Anchorage.

The motorhome had six occupants.

The motorhome struck the Audi’s drivers’ side, and both vehicles left the roadway. One of the six occupants of the motorhome was taken to Central Peninsula Hospital, but the dispatch says they were later life-flighted to Providence Medical Center in Anchorage due to the severity of their injuries.

Hicks-Patrick was also taken to Central Peninsula Hospital, the dispatch says, but she fled after receiving treatment to avoid being arrested on an outstanding warrant for violating conditions of release on original charges of driving under the influence and third-degree assault.

Troopers located her and arrested her on that warrant as well as another charge of violating conditions of release after having consumed alcohol.

After investigation, the dispatch says, Milos was arrested for driving under the influence and on six counts of third-degree assault and one count of first-degree assault. Both Milos and Hicks-Patrick were taken to Wildwood Pretrial Facility.
