The City Manager Selection Committee plans to select a batch of semi-finalists for Homer’s new city manager by a Feb. 2 special meeting of the Homer City Council. The full council will interview telephonically the candidates starting at 5 p.m. The meeting will be open to the public.
In a meeting on Jan. 14, the committee of Mayor Beth Wythe and council members Francie Roberts, Gus VanDyke and Bryan Zak moved forward on the process of reviewing applications and narrowing down its list.
The committee also approved a list of interview questions. After the first round of telephonic interviews, the selection committee also approved holding in-person meetings with the finalists in another public meeting on Feb. 9.
The City Manager Selection Committee next meets at 4 p.m. Jan. 28 in the Conference Room, City Hall, and will release its list of semi-finalists after that.
