Each year the Alaska Municipal League-Department of Municipal Clerks, through a nominating committee process, selects a municipal clerk to be worthy of receiving the prestigious award of “Municipal Clerk of the Year.” The criteria is of the highest standards. This year our very own city clerk, Jo Johnson, was selected and here is why.
As city clerk of the city of Homer, Jo Johnson carries out her state and local statutory requirements and duties with the highest level of detail, accuracy and timeliness in a professional and sincere manner using a kind voice and thoughtful words.
As the interface between the citizens and their local government, Jo Johnson represents the city with pride and confidence. She is a role model of compassion for her work and to her profession.
Congratulations, Jo Johnson. You make Homer proud.
