What do you think is the greatest threat to our democracy? Socialism, tyranny, guns, every politician, any political party you don’t like?
None of these. The greatest threat is voter apathy.
How could you be satisfied with the results of an election if only 23 percent of voters turned out to vote? That is exactly what happened in the most recent municipal election. Now we have an election coming up to determine the health and wealth of Alaska for the next four years — and the direction of the country for the next six years. This means a call to action.
If you are registered to vote anywhere on the southern Kenai Peninsula — Anchor Point, Nikolaevsk, English Bay, Seldovia, Fritz Creek, Kachemak City, Diamond Ridge, Homer (you get the idea) — you can vote now (before the election day) Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at Homer City Hall.
Vote now, no lines, no delays and no excuses.
Thank you.
