An Anchor Point man was arraigned last Friday on four counts of first-degree sexual-abuse of a minor. Daniel L. Hinsberger, 54, also was arrested and is in custody at Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

In charging documents, Alaska State Trooper John Probst alleged that Hinsberger sexually abused three girls under the age of 13 between Jan.1, 2009, and Dec. 23, 2013.

The allegations came forth after a woman was having a “mother-daughter talk” with her daughter before Christmas and the girl told her that Hinsberger had abused her on a prior visit to his Anchor Point home, Probst wrote. The girl said she did not want to visit Hinsberger again. 

The mother brought her daughter to South Peninsula Hospital for an exam. The girl was later examined by Sexual Assault Response Team nurses and also interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center at South Peninsula Haven House. 

During the interview, the girl also told investigators of another girl who had what troopers alleged was sexual contact with Hinsberger. An interview was done with that girl and her sister at the Child Advocacy Center. Sexual Assault Response Team nurses also examined those girls.  

No bail has yet been set for Hinsberger. A preliminary hearing is set for 3:30 p.m. on Monday with Judge Margaret Murphy at the Homer Courthouse.
