In response to Holly Delauter’s letter in last week’s Homer News, we are mindful of the old saying “there are two sides to every story.” We remember this event very differently. We do appreciate Ms. Delauter’s efforts on behalf of this stray dog. And yes, the Animal Shelter does need better signage for after-hours protocol for intake of animals. We thank Ms. Delauter for bringing this to our attention, and it is something we will address.
We also would like to remind everyone that if you need to get our attention after hours, when we are cleaning, etc., there is a doorbell you can ring at the front door. Please, ring several times, as this bell can only be heard in about half of the building. The main shelter number is listed:
235-3141.
