2 killed in head-on crash in Kasilof

Both vehicles received “disabling damage,” troopers reported

A head-on car wreck in Kasilof on Sunday evening killed two central peninsula residents, according to a dispatch from the Alaska State Troopers.

Hannah Hill, 29, of Kenai, was driving a 2018 Ford Focus “at a high rate of speed” and crossed over the centerline, according to troopers. The car collided head on with a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 42-year-old Kasilof resident Matthew Smith, the dispatch said.

Hill and her passenger, Jessica Neff, 31, of Soldotna, were pronounced dead at the scene.
