Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited a 66-year-old Homer man and a 34-year-old Homer man for trolling for king salmon with two lines in Kachemak Bay. Bail was set at $110 each.
Wildlife troopers cited a 63-year-old Anchorage man for failing to record a king salmon more than 20 inches long on his harvest record. Bail was set at $110.

Oct. 1
Wildlife troopers cited a 45-year-old Anchor Point man for taking a bull moose during a closed season and wanton waste. Troopers said on Aug. 26 another hunter came across a moose carcass on Tall Tree Avenue north of Anchor Point and contacted troopers. Troopers said the bull had been shot and died in the middle of the road. Following an investigation, troopers allege the 45-year-old man shot the moose on Aug. 26 and after measuring the antlers as less than 50 inches, left the area without salvaging the meat.
Oct. 2
Wildlife troopers cited a 33-year-old man, 19-year-old man and a 31-year-old man, all of Homer, for failing to have their moose antlers sealed. The hunters shot bulls in game management unit 15C and failed to have the antlers sealed within 10 days of taking the moose.
Oct. 3
Wildlife troopers cited a 31-year-old Kachemak Selo man for negligently leaving food and garbage near his home in a way that attracted a brown bear sow. The man later shot and killed the bear in defense of life and property. Bail was set at $310.
Oct. 4
Troopers in Anchorage and Homer at 10:45 a.m. arrested a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old man following an investigation of sexual assault on a 17-year-old boy on Sept. 8 at a party. Both men were charged with second-degree sexual assault, a felony, and arrested without incident.
Oct. 5
Troopers at 3:55 p.m. went to a car crash at the intersection of Walters Street and Wilderness Lane in Homer. Troopers allege a 17-year-old Homer boy driving too fast for conditions in a Toyota truck tried to make a right turn and slid around a corner, hitting a Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 58-year-old Homer man. Both drivers wore seat belts. Troopers cited the boy for failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision.
Oct. 6
At 12:42 a.m. troopers contacted two 17-year-old boys during an investigation and said they possessed marijuana and paraphernalia. Charges were referred to the Division of Juvenile Justice.
