Alaska State Troopers at 10:09 p.m. went to a car-moose crash near Mile 128 Sterling Highway in Ninilchik. Troopers said a 34-year-old Homer man driving south in a 2000 Subaru hit a moose. The driver and his passenger both wore seatbelts and had minor injuries. They declined medical attention. The moose was killed and the meat donated to a charity. The car had major damage.
Sept. 6
Troopers at 4:44 p.m. received a report that a firearm had been stolen from a home near Blackwater Bend in Anchor Point. Troopers said the theft of a .22-caliber revolver was recently discovered but had occurred a year earlier. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-478-4257 (478-HALT).
