Alaska State Troopers went to a report of an assault near Homer and contacted a 36-year-old Homer man. Troopers arrested the man for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

May 10

Troopers at 9:13 p.m. while on patrol saw a passenger not wearing a seatbelt in a Cadillac in front of them. Troopers stopped the car and contacted the driver and passenger. Troopers charged the driver, a 19-year-old Homer man, with driving in violation of an instructional permit, and the driver and the passenger, a 20-year-old Homer man, with sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, marijuana.

May 11

Troopers at 2:23 p.m. contacted a driver with mud on his windshield on Ocean Drive. Troopers arrested the driver, a 22-year-old Anchorage man, for driving while license suspended.

May 12

Troopers at 8:16 a.m. went to a car rollover near Mile 9 East End Road. Troopers said a 17-year-old Homer woman driving west lost control of her car. The car left the road and rolled, causing $4,000 in damages. The woman did not wear her seat belt but escaped injury. Troopers cited her for failure to wear a seat belt.

May 13

A 17-year-old man at 12:27 p.m. told troopers that an unknown person shot him with a blow gun while he was walking in Ninilchik. He had a minor hand injury.

May 15

Troopers at 2:28 p.m. went to South Peninsula Hospital for a report of a 43-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head. Troopers said the man shot himself on May 10 while negligently handling a firearm. The injury was serious but not life threatening.

May 17

Troopers at 2:30 p.m. went to an Anchor Point home near Mile 2.5 North Fork Road after receiving information that a 24-year-old Anchor Point man was at the home and possibly distributing controlled substances. The man also was on felony probation for a robbery conviction and had been avoided contact with his probation officer. Troopers contacted the man and a 35-year-old Homer woman sitting in a white Chevrolet pickup truck. Troopers received information the woman had just bought a large amount of heroin from the man and had been smoking it before troopers contacted her. Troopers served a warrant on the car and belongings and seized more than 1.15 ounces of heroin, about $2,500 in cash and paraphernalia. The heroin had an estimated street value of $19,000. The man and the woman were arrested for second-degree and fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance.
