Homer Medical Center invites kids 10 years and under to the first annual Great Candy Exchange on Thursday, Nov. 1, from 2-5 p.m. at the SPH Training Center, 203 West Pioneer Ave. Kids can turn in their trick-or-treat candy for fabulous prizes, and then create custom art greeting cards to bundle up with the donated candy for care packages to send to our service men and women abroad. While kids are having fun, moms can visit with the new providers at Homer Medical Center and South Peninsula Hospital who specialize in womens and kids health: Dr. Sarah Roberts, family practice; Dr. Hilary Seger, OB/GYN; Cindy Beske, certified nurse midwife; and Katie Beckmann, pediatric physical therapist. There will be healthy treats for all. For more information, call 235-0397.
