The Pratt Museum holds two talks by writers this month. From 5 to 7 p.m. July 12, Jean Meaux speaks and shows a slideshow for her anthology, “In Pursuit of Alaska: An Anthology of Travelers’ Tales, 1879-1909.” Meaux has complied a collection of 27 narratives by the men and women who helped shape a national vision of Alaska.
From 11 a.m.-1 p.m. July 13, writer and photographer Tom Reed holds a book signing of his new collection of photos and essays, “Moved By a Mountain: Inspiration from an Alpine View in Alaska.” Reed’s photographs also open in an exhibit Friday at the Homer Council on the Arts.
