The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is still working on live trapping possums in the area of Klondike, Grubstake, Bonanza and Kachemak Way, including around the Kachemak Bay Campus, and are inadvertently catching cats. The cats are being brought to the shelter.

If you are missing your cat from that area please call us at 235-3141. The stray hold will be extended for these cats from five days to 10, and then they will be available for adoption. Please, please keep your cats inside and/or get them microchipped. The shelter has many cats available for adoption currently.
