Tank loves his wet food treat, oh my yes he does — and head butts, a gentle hand, a soft, kind word. This 7-year-old, short-haired black cat is a lover. Good with dogs, kids and other cats, he’s just an all-around great best friend.    

To adopt a pet, call or stop by the animal shelter across from the city’s Public Works Department off the Sterling Highway. The shelter is open from noon-5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. For more information, call 235-3141.
