Lora Lee (Burlingame) Craig

Lora Lee Craig passed away on Sept. 16, 2022 in Anchor Point, Alaska. She was 75.
Lora Lee Burlingame was born on Jan. 24, 1947 in Dunsmuir, California to Stanley and Lanora Burlingame. She accepted Christ as her Savior on Dec 2, 1957, and was baptized at Redding Christian Church, Redding, California.
Lora went to San Jose Bible College in San Jose, California, where she met her future husband, Robert Craig. They were married on July 14, 1967 in Redding.
They moved to Fort Hays, Kansas, and then to Holly, Colorado
In 1971, they moved to Homer, Alaska to work at Alaska Christian School. Son, Steve, and daughter, Delma, were born while they lived in Homer. The family moved to Anchor Point in 1975, where Bob and Lora operated Craig’s Anchor Point Garage.
In 1988, their daughter, Michelle, was born. Lora was the volunteer librarian for Chapman School, the main dispatcher for the Anchor Point Volunteer Fire Department for 36 years, secretary for the fire service area board, served on the Anchor Point Public Library board, and in 2006, and became the librarian until July 2022.
Lora was a faithful member of Homer Christian Church.
Lora is preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Lanora Burlingame, and her brother David Burlingame.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bob Craig; children, Steven Craig (Rita) of Homer; Delma Luna (Angel) of Gilbert, Arizona; and Michelle Yager (Daniel) of Ninilchik; grandchildren, Kristina Coats (Micah Smith), David Craig (Lyndsay), Brittany Craig (Joseph Resetarits), Gwendolyn Luna, Ariana Luna, and Gideon Yager, and two brand new great-granddaughters, Elvyra Smith and Gracelynn Craig.
A Celebration of Life will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sep. 24, 2022, .at Homer Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Anchor Point Public Library.
