Kelly James Scott

Kelly James Scott, 72, passed away peacefully August 16, 2022 in Anchor Point, AK after a brave battle
with cancer for the last three and a half years. His wife Karlin, of 38 years, was by his side.
Kelly was born Feb 17, 1950, in Seattle, WA to Clyde and June Scott. He was one of three brothers and
grew up riding horses, participating in relays, and racing in 4-H.
Kelly was a ‘jack of all trades’. He worked many jobs from trucking and building homes to working on the
Alaska pipeline and commercial fishing in Alaska. He was a business owner. His love of poker led him to
owning a casino in Washington State, providing a good life for him and his family.
Flying was Kelly’s true passion. For 30 years he enjoyed taking family and friends into the air to see
things from a different perspective. Kelly had a big heart always willing to help anyone. He shared his
love of flying by donating many flights to benefits to help raise money for people in need. When Kelly
wasn’t flying, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, diving, and traveling with his wife.
Kelly’s kindness, bright smile and giving heart will be greatly missed.
Kelly was Proceeded in death by his parents and grandparents.
He is survived by His Wife Karlin Scott, older brother Mike and younger brother Pat. Children, Shane
(Staci) Scott, Andrea (Karl) Browne, Greg (Janie) Martin, Sharlene (Ross) Wagers, 10 grandchildren, and 3
great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
