Katie McNary and Thomas Appelhanz, of Homer, were married in a small private ceremony at the Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tennessee on May 5, 2013.
In attendance were maid of honor Marissa Paul, bridesmaids Emma McNary and Andrea Bazacas, flower girls Chloe and Ava Bazacas, best man Sean Bazacas and groomsman Andrew Six. A reception luncheon followed at the resort.
Katie is the daughter of Patrick and Janet McNary, of Homer. After graduating from Homer High School, Katie attended the Honors College at Oregon State University, and will continue her studies in the field of athletic training and physical therapy at Austin Peay State University.
Tom is the son of Matthew and Mary Appelhanz, of Anchor Point. After graduating high school, he became a firefighter and EMT II with the Homer Volunteer Fire Department. A Specialist in the US Army, Tom recently returned from a nine month deployment in Afghanistan where he served as a Flight Medic with the 101st Airborne Division.
Tom and Katie will live in Clarksville, Tenn., while Tom is stationed at Fort Campbell.
