A woman at 10:45 a.m. reported loose dogs chasing a bear that got stuck in a tree on Miller Lane.

A woman at 2:59 p.m. reported a driver speeding and passing unsafely on East End Road. Police responded and cited the driver.

A woman at 3:38 p.m. reported receiving harassing communications.

A man at 10:05 p.m. reported people trespassing on private property on Hidden Way. He said he asked the people to leave and they refused. Police responded.

Police at 10:18 p.m. received multiple 911 calls with an open line from the Poopdeck Street and Hazel Avenue area. Police responded and a man was taken to the emergency room.

Police at 10:38 p.m. advised multiple subjects of no-camping rules in the Poopdeck Street and Hazel Avenue area.

A caller at 11:13 p.m. reported a woman acting strangely at Bishop’s Beach. Police responded and arrested a 22-year-old woman for second-degree trespassing.

A man at 11:11 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on people not answering their door at night at a Cityview Avenue address. Police checked on the home and a person was inside sleeping. All was OK.

July 19

A woman at 12:01 a.m. reported a suspicious person in a black 2000 Cadillac driving by her Fairview Avenue home playing loud music and yelling at her. Police responded and issue a man a disorderly conduct warning.

Police at 1:37 a.m. contacted a 32-year-old man driving on the Sterling Highway and arrested him for driving under the influence.

A caller at 1:41 p.m. reported a purchase using a stolen credit card at a Lake Street business.

A person at 2:11 p.m. reported a man who has been issued a trespass notice from an Ocean Drive business was in the parking lot at the business. The caller then said the man had left. Police found the man, age 24, across the street and arrested him for criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.

A city employee at 4:37 p.m. reported several campers at Karen Hornaday Park reported thefts from their campsites the night before.

Police at 6:09 p.m. contacted a 20-year-old man at a Lake Street address and arrested him on an outstanding warrant.

Police at 7:38 p.m. contacted a 20-year-old man driving on Pioneer Avenue and arrested him for driving while license revoked.

A woman at 11:13 p.m. reported an injured sea otter on the Spit beach. Police notified the Alaska SeaLife Center.

July 20

A person at 4:03 a.m. reported a disturbance on a commercial boat in the harbor. Police responded and arrested a 24-year-old man for first-degree burglary, fourth-degree theft, third-degree theft, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

A woman at 7:03 a.m. reported the theft of a gas can and gas from her Early Spring Street yard.

An officer at 9 a.m. warned a person of possible terroristic threatening to an out-of-state entity and advised the person not to contact that entity in any way.

A man at 9:59 a.m. reported a possibly injured or sick seal at the Homer Harbor. Police advised the SeaLife Center.

A man at 10:24 a.m. reported a white pickup truck stolen from Freight Dock Road. Police later found the truck and told the owner.

A caller at 2 p.m. reported finding an iPod on the Reber Trail.

A man at 4:48 p.m. reported people driving 4-wheelers on the road on South Slope Drive and causing a traffic hazard.

A person at 7:06 p.m. made a 911 call of a drunk woman destroying business property at a Sterling Highway address. Police responded and issued the woman a trespass notice for the rest of the day.

A person at 8:28 p.m. reported a stolen bicycle.

A caller at 10:13 p.m. reported a man trespassing at a Ben Walters Lane address. Police responded and determined it was a civil issue.

July 21

A father at 12:12 a.m. reported his distraught juvenile daughter ran away. Police and firefighters were to be on the lookout. The girl was later found and was OK.

A caller at 3:38 a.m. reported a drunk man causing a disturbance and unsafely walking through a construction zone on the Spit. Police advised the man to stay out of the roadway.

A woman at 10:44 a.m. reported her grandson harassed her when he got drunk.

A caller at 3:56 p.m. reported a stolen car from the Fish Dock Road area. The car was later found.

A caller at 6:10 a.m. reported a bag fell out of a truck on the Sterling Highway.

Police at 7:36 p.m. stopped a person driving on Pioneer Avenue and warned the driver for DUI. The car was secured and the people walked to their destinations.

Police at 9:11 p.m. assisted medics on the Spit.

July 22

A man at 1:20 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on two girls. Police contacted the girls and got them a ride home.

A woman at 2 p.m. reported young teenagers rolling boulders down a slide at the Karen Hornaday Park playground.

A hospital worker at 3:31 p.m. reported possible child abuse. An officer was notified.

A woman at 6:12 p.m. reported an injured eagle on Bay Avenue. Police notified the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. 

July 23

Police at 12:50 a.m. responded to a noise complaint at Karen Hornaday Park.

A library employee at 10 a.m. reported a man who had been issued a trespass notice was at the library. Police responded.

A person at 2:47 p.m. reported a drunk woman yelled and threatened customers at a Sterling Highway store.

Police at 2:58 p.m. warned a driver for not yielding to a pedestrian in a crosswalk on Pioneer Avenue.

A caller at 4:10 p.m. reported a bicycle stolen from an Ocean Drive address.

A person at 3:59 p.m. reported cars parking on the berm and driving in a prohibited area on Bishop’s Beach.

A man at 7:30 p.m. reported gas siphoned from a boat.

A man at 8:27 p.m. reported a noise disturbance at a Bartlett Street address. Police responded and one suspect hit an officer’s car while trying to leave the scene.

July 24

A person at 1:44 a.m. reported a suspicious person trying to get into a home on Klondike Avenue. Police responded and determined the person was a tenant of a trailer located in the driveway.

A person at 1:47 a.m. flagged down an officer to report a possible suicide attempt. The person said a man had been taken to the hospital emergency room by friends. A hospital employee confirmed the man was at the ER.

A caller at 9:48 a.m. reported a theft at a Sterling Highway business. Police responded and arrested a 24-year-old woman for second-degree burglary, fourth-degree theft and violating conditions of release. Police also arrested a 27-year-old man for hindering prosecution.

A city worker at 1:34 p.m. reported a domestic dispute in progress on the Spit. Police responded.

A man at 2:37 p.m. turned in a camera found on the Diamond Creek Trail.

A person at 3:23 p.m. reported a car hit a moose on East Skyline Drive. Police responded. The crash was in the Alaska State Troopers patrol area. Police assisted troopers.

A man at 6 p.m. reported his ex-wife harassed him.

A person at 11:22 p.m. reported a drunk pedestrian stumbling into the road on Lake Street. Police responded and took a woman to the hospital.

A man at 1:48 p.m. reported a theft on Fish Dock Road.

A caller at 2:23 p.m. reported shoplifters at a Lake Street business. Police responded and issued summonses for fourth-degree theft to a 24-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman.

July 25

A person at 8:02 p.m. flagged down an officer regarding suspicious people at the Karen Hornaday Park campground.

A person at 11:44 p.m. made a 911 call with a “report every dangerous driver immediately” complaint. Police arrested a 20-year-old man for DUI.

July 26

A person at 5:26 a.m. reported a disturbance at the Karen Hornaday Park campground. Police responded.

A caller at 8:31 a.m. reported a drunk man at a Pioneer Avenue business. Police responded and arrested a 27-year-old man for trespassing.

A caller at 9:25 a.m. reported a man walking in the road on Spruceview Avenue. Police responded and determined all was OK. The man was looking for a lost cell phone.

A caller at 11 a.m. reported an expected death of a 66-year-old woman at her Bayview Avenue home.

A caller at 11:45 a.m. reported the theft of a purse at an East End Road bar.

A caller at 2:20 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on children at the Karen Hornaday Park campground because their father acted strangely. Police responded. All was OK.

A caller at 9:57 p.m. reported dogs barking who did not have food or water at an unoccupied home on Soundview Avenue. Police responded and notified animal control.

A person at 10:20 p.m. made a 911 call of possibly underage drinking on Bishop’s Beach. Police contacted several people.

July 27

Police at 2:52 a.m. did a security check of a Pioneer Avenue bar. Police arrested a 30-year-old woman for harassment, resisting arrest and being a drunk person on licensed premises.

Police at 4:01 a.m. stopped a 50-year-old man driving on Grubstake Avenue and arrested him for DUI.

A caller at 7:15 p.m. reported equipment vandalized on Heath Street.

A hospital employee at 7:55 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a patient leaving the hospital against medical advice. Staff convinced the patient to remain. The patient asked police to do a welfare check on a family member. Police contacted the family member and found all was OK.

A man at 11:59 p.m. made a 911 call that he hit with his car a moose on the Sterling Highway.

July 28

A woman at 12:43 a.m. made a 911 that a drunk roommate threatened her. Police responded and separated the parties for the night.

A caller at 5:49 a.m. reported an unwanted man had come to a Sabrina Road home earlier. Police contacted the man and issued a trespass notice.

A woman at 8:42 a.m. said her adult son did not make it back to his place of employment and has not been seen for two days.

A woman at 10:58 a.m. reported someone hit her car while it was parked on the Spit.

A caller at 11:44 a.m. reported a man shoplifting at a Sterling Highway store who then ran away.

A woman at 10:15 a.m. reported her juvenile son doing drugs at a Sterling Highway home.
