Homer Fire

April 14-20

Firefighters and emergency medical technicians went to seven medical calls and four fire calls.

April 15

Firefighters went to Northern Enterprises Boat Yard for a report of a boat fire. Upon arrival they found an arc welder had caught grass on fire and the fire had been put out.

April 19

Firefighters went to Shelley Avenue for an escaped burn pile fire. The fast-moving fire threatened two houses. Firefighters quickly put out the fire and saved both homes. The fire had spread to one acre. Alaska Division of Forestry wildland firefighters also responded.
