Pier One Theatre is holding a double audition for two upcoming musicals: “The Adams Family: a New Musical” and “Fiddler on the Roof.”
The shows will share the same audition time and space with coordinated audition material. Auditions will take place on Sunday, April 14 at 2 p.m. and Monday, April 15 at 6 p.m. at Homer High School Mariner Theatre.
Performers only need to attend one of the audition times. People interested may audition for one musical or the other or both and they are open to all ages.
”The Addams Family: A New Musical” is based on a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice with music and lyrics by Andrew Larry Hochman, according to a Pier One flyer. Orchestration is by Larry Hochman. The musical is based on the characters by Charles Addams.
It will be directed by Jennifer Norton and Eric Simondsen with 12 performances taking place July 11-28 at the Pier One Theatre on the Spit. Rehearsals will begin in May.
The flyer also notes that “The Addams Family” is presented through special arrangement with and all authorized performance materials supplied by Theatrical Rights Worldwide in New York City.
“Fiddler on the Roof” is based on Sholem Aleichem stories by special permission of Arnold Perl. The music is by Jerry Brock with lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. It was originally written as a novel by Joseph Stein. It will be directed by Jennifer Norton and Mark Robinson with performances taking place at the Homer Mariner Theatre. Group rehearsals will begin in August with days still to be determined.
