Homer Volunteer Fire Department
Nov. 28-Dec. 4
Homer Volunteer Fire Department responded to nine Advanced Life Support emergencies and nine Basic Life Support emergencies, for a total of 18 Emergency Medical Service-related tone outs. There was one motor vehicle accident-related call and three fire-related calls.
Kachemak Emergency Services Area
Nov. 28-Dec. 4
Kachemak Emergency Services responded to five emergency medical services and one fire call.
Western Emergency Services
Nov. 28-Dec. 11
Western Emergency Services responded to 12 medical calls and three fire calls the week of Nov. 28 through Dec. 4 and to six medical calls and two fire calls the week of Dec. 5 through Dec. 11.
Homer Police Department
Dec. 5
At 12:45 p.m., a Municipal Corrections Officer discovered contraband in an inmate’s belongings. A 30-year-old Anchor Point resident was charged with fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and promoting contraband.
Dec. 6
At 4:59 a.m., a 43-year-old Homer resident was arrested on an outstanding warrant for violating conditions of release.
At 9:34 a.m., a theft was reported in the Frisbee Court area. It is under investigation.
At 12:26 p.m., officers assisted the Homer Volunteer Fire Department with a medical call on Ben Walters Lane.
Dec. 7
At 3:14 p.m., a theft was reported on the Homer Spit. It is under investigation.
Dec. 8
At 4:48 p.m., a theft was reported at Homer High School. It is under investigation.
At 10:06 p.m., officers contacted a 56-year-old Homer resident and charged him with violating conditions of release.
Dec. 9
At about 4:40 a.m., multiple callers reported a large structure fire. Homer Volunteer Fire Department, Kachemak Emergency Services, and Western Emergency Services responded to the scene. No one was injured.
At 4:35 p.m., a caller reported fraud. The case is under investigation.
At 8:34 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a 24-year-old Homer resident, who was arrested for driving under the influence and taken to the Homer Jail.
Dec. 11
At 2:26 a.m., Homer police conducted a traffic stop on a 44-year-old Kasilof resident, who was arrested for driving under the influence and misconduct involving a weapon and taken to the Homer Jail.
Alaska State Troopers
Dec. 10
At 6:16 p.m., Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of the Sterling Highway and Berussa Street in Ninilchik for a moving violation. After investigation revealed that the driver, a 25-year-old Ninilchik resident, was arrested for violating conditions of release and taken to Homer Jail without bail.

Janelle Marie Gassler, 37, unlawful contact per court-ordered; and violating conditions of release for a misdemeanor, Anchor Point case.
Tadhg Bernardo Scholz, 24, driving under the influence, alcohol or controlled substance, Homer case.
Paul Anton Slettedahl, Jr., driving under the influence; and fourth-degree misconduct involving weapons – possession while intoxicated, Homer case.
