May 12

An officer at 4:50 p.m. assisted with a vehicle fire on Diamond Ridge Road.

A caller at 7:40 p.m. reported a man was stalking her via phone and text in the Homer area. An officer spoke with the woman and the case is under investigation.

A caller at 9:26 p.m. reported damage to a vehicle in a parking lot on the Sterling Highway. An officer went to the scene.

May 13

A caller at 1:44 a.m. reported a disturbance in a local establishment on the Sterling Highway. Officers responded to the location.

An officer who was out at 3:45 a.m. on a call about a vehicle previously reported stolen/missing contacted a man at Mile 1 Kachemak Drive. The man was arrested for violating conditions of release.

A caller at 4:10 p.m. made a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) report on a vehicle at Lake Street and Smokey Bay way. An officer noted no impairment of the driver.

A caller at 4:52 p.m. requested a welfare check on a woman at Mile 3 Spit Road. An officer contacted the woman and found all was OK. The officer provided her with transportation.

A caller at 5:36 p.m. reported a civil domestic dispute on Ocean Drive. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 7:03 p.m. reported a hit and run in a business parking lot on Homer Bypass Road. An officer went to the scene.

Multiple callers at 7:27 p.m. reported an intoxicated man who was staggering down the sidewalk at East End Road and Sabrina Road. An officer went to the area but was unable to locate the man.

May 14

An officer at 9:08 p.m. gave a driver a citation for driving with their license revoked at Mile 4 Kachemak Drive.

A caller at 11:38 p.m. requested a welfare check on a family member on Kachemak Drive. Officers went to the scene and found all was OK.

May 15

A caller at 8:09 a.m. reported an after-the-fact vehicle crash with damage on Homer Bypass Road. An officer went to the scene.

Multiple callers at 11:44 a.m. reported a vehicle collision with a moose on Ocean Drive. Officers went to the location.

A caller at 3:49 p.m. reported a child missing from Triton Court. Officers went to the location and the child was found unharmed.

A caller at 6:12 p.m. reported that he had hit a dog while driving at Reber Drive and West Hill Road. An officer went to the location and the animal control office was advised.

A caller at 6:18 p.m. requested a welfare check on a family member on Main Street. An officer contacted the person and found all was OK.

A caller at 10:20 p.m. reported suspicious activity and a suspicious vehicle on Bartlett Street. An officer went to the location.

A caller at 12:49 a.m. reported a noise complaint at Heath Street and Klondike Avenue. An officer went to the location but was unable to locate anything.

An officer at 2:41 a.m. made a security check on Jack Gist Lane, contacted some people, and advised them of camping regulations.

A caller at 9 a.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Mile 3 Spit Road. An officer went to the area and advised the driver about their actions.

A caller at 5:02 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Mile 3 Spit Road that was driving erratically. An officer contacted the driver and found the report to be unfounded.

A caller at 5:22 p.m. requested a welfare check on a family member on W. Waddell Street. An officer and medics went to the scene and found all was OK.

A caller at 8:17 p.m. reported a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a neighbor’s house at Bay Vista Court and Bay Vista Place. An officer went to the area and the vehicle was gone when the officer arrived.

A caller at 8:31 p.m. requested a welfare check on a friend on East End Road. An officer went to the person’s home, contacted the people there and found the family was taking care of the person in question.

An officer at 9:14 p.m. warned a driver for speeding at Mile 2 Spit Road.

May 17

A caller at 2:30 a.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Mile 3 Spit Road. An officer went to the area and observed the driver obeying all traffic laws.

An officer at 1:38 p.m. assisted the Homer Volunteer Fire Department on Main Street.

A caller at 3:30 p.m. reported finding drug paraphernalia along the roadway at East Hill Road and Larkspur Court.

A caller at 6:01 p.m. reported finding a suspicious object on Bishop’s Beach. The caller emailed pictures of the object to the police department, which were forwarded to an investigator.

A caller at 7:44 p.m. reported a vessel had been stolen from a dry dock on Kachemak Drive. An officer was notified and it’s under investigation.

May 18

A caller at 11:53 a.m. reported a domestic issue on Alder Lane. Officers went to the scene and arrested a 45-year-old man for fourth-degree assault.

A caller at 3:30 p.m. reported a wanted person at a home on Ben Walters Lane. Officers went to the location and found the wanted subject was not there.

Officers at 4:52 p.m. arrested a 28-year-old man on an outstanding warrant on East Pioneer Avenue.

A caller at 5:06 p.m. reported seeing an injured sandhill crane on Hillside Place. Officers notified the proper agency.

A caller at 7:09 p.m. went to the police station and reported that her underage daughter had been assaulted by an adult.

A caller at 11:08 p.m. reported a woman trespassing in a business on the Sterling Highway. Officers went to the scene, contacted the 24-year-old woman and issued her a summons for trespassing.

May 19

A caller at 6:11 a.m. reported a man trying to steal parts off a vehicle on Kachemak Drive. An officer went to the scene and gave them man a violation for driving without and operator’s license.

A caller at 5:26 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle on the Sterling Highway. An officer went to the location and found the report was unfounded.

A caller at 7:18 p.m. reported a man with outstanding warrants was on Greatland Street. Officers responded to the location but were unable to locate the man.

Officers at 11:20 p.m. contacted an intoxicated man on Heath Street and placed him in protective custody.

May 20

A caller at 3:39 a.m. reported an intoxicated man trying to get into their home on Ocean Drive Loop. Officers went to the scene.

A person at 4:35 p.m. went to the police station to make an after-the-fact report of a man harassing a group of minors on Jenny Way. An officer responded to the area.

A caller at 5:37 p.m. reported a possible drug deal at Spit Road and Freightdock Road. An officer went to the area.

A caller at 6:29 p.m. reported two minors in an area where there was a moose on Klondike Avenue. An officer responded to the area.

Officers at 9:35 p.m. arrested a 51-yer-old woman on an arrest warrant on West. Bayview Avenue.

An officer at 11:41 p.m. warned a driver for improper registration and insurance at East End Road and Adams Drive.

A caller at 8:33 p.m. made a REDDI report about a vehicle at Spit Road and Kachemak Drive. An officer contacted the driver and noted no impairment. It turned out to be a vehicle malfunction.

An officer at 8:43 p.m. warned a driver for speeding on Campground Road.

May 21

An officer at 2:19 a.m. issued a summons to a driver for not having a valid license, registration or insurance at Soundview Avenue and Tajen Lane.

A caller at 10:11 a.m. reported drug activity on East End Road. Officers went to the area and arrested a 26-year-old man on an outstanding warrant.

Officers at 3:14 p.m. assisted Alaska State Troopers, along with medics, at Spit Road and Freight Dock Road.

A caller at 3:34 p.m. reported a dog harassing moose at Eagle View Subdivision and Garden Park. An officer advised the animal control office.

An officer at 4:37 p.m. arrested a 50-year-old man on an outstanding warrant on Main Street.

An officer at 6:05 p.m. gave a driver a warning for failing to yield for oncoming traffic at a stop sign at West Hill Road and the Sterling Highway.

May 22

A caller at 5:16 a.m. reported a person sitting in a parked vehicle at a business on East Pioneer Avenue. An officer responded to the location and found that the vehicle was not occupied.

Troopers

May 19

A 30-year-old Homer man was issued a citation by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers for fishing with no sport fish license in possession. Bail is set at $210 in the Homer Court.

May 20

A 58-year-old Palmer woman was issued a citation by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers for fishing for king salmon with no king salmon stamp. Bail is set at $110 in the Homer District Court.

May 21

A 67-year-old Wasilla man, a 63-year-old Cold Spring, Minnesota man, a 50-year-old Cold Spring Minnesota woman and a 43-year-old Greenville, South Carolina man were issued citations by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Anchor Point Post for failure to log halibut landing on a charter trip. Bail is set at $110 in the Homer Court for each individual.

A 54-year-old Spokane, Washington man was issued a citation by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Anchor Point Post for failure to log halibut landing on a charter trip. Bail is set at $110 in the Homer Court.
