March 13

Police at 8:22 a.m. contacted a person sleeping in a public restroom at WKFL Park.

A person at 11:22 a.m. made a 911 call of a disturbance at a Lake Street address. Police responded.

A caller at 1:50 p.m. reported theft of mail from a Mt. Augustine Drive address.

A caller at 7:33 p.m. reported a man trespassing at a Sterling Highway address. Police responded and issued a trespass notice to a 26-year-old man.

A caller at 11:58 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a person at a Danview Avenue address. Police responded.

March 14

Police at 2:36 p.m. served a search warrant on a vehicle at the police station.

A person at 3:45 p.m. came to the station to report vandalism to a vehicle at a Pennock Street address.

March 15

A caller at 1:55 a.m. reported seeing a bear in the Mattox Road area.

A caller at 10:29 a.m. reported an assault at a Sterling Highway address. Police responded.

A caller at 11:08 a.m. asked for a welfare check on people in a vehicle on Fish Dock Road.

A caller at 3:17 p.m. reported a man urinating in public on East End Road near Mattox Road.

Several callers at 4:38 p.m. reported contact between parties in a long-term protective order at a Sterling Highway address.

March 16

A caller at 10:07 a.m. reported a man issued a trespass notice from a Main Street address was on the property.

A caller at 7:43 p.m. reported an injured moose on Scenic Place. Police notified the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.

A person at 9:48 p.m. reported people shooting off fireworks in the Whispering Meadows Avenue area. Police contacted the subjects.

March 17

A caller at 11:39 a.m. reported suspicious activity at a Landings Street residence. Police responded.

A person at 4:32 p.m. made a 911 call of a domestic dispute at an Ocean Drive address. Police responded and arrested a 21-year-old woman on an outstanding warrant and a charge of criminal mischief.

A caller at 8:13 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a man in vehicle parked at a Sterling Highway address. Police responded and found the man was OK.

March 18

Police at 1:55 a.m. stopped a driver on East End Road near East Hill Road and issued a driving under the influence warning. A sober driver took the other driver home.

A caller at 8:07 a.m. reported finding an apparently dead woman on Svedlund Street near Herndon Drive. Police responded and determined the woman was dead. Police identified the 44-year-old woman and notified next of kin. No foul play is suspected. The woman’s body was sent to the Alaska Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

A person at 10:42 p.m. made a 911 call of a disturbance on the Homer Spit. Police arrested a 48-year-old man for assault.

March 19

A caller at 8:16 p.m. reported a hit-and-run crash on the Homer Spit with the suspect driver leaving at a high rate of speed.

Troopers

March 16

Alaska State Troopers at 12:30 p.m. arrested a 41-year-old Nikolaevsk man at his residence on an outstanding warrant on an original charge of third-degree assault.
