Homer Police

Feb. 3

A caller at 1:06 a.m. reported an intoxicated woman staggering down the street at Pioneer Avenue and Heath Street. Officers contacted the woman.

An officer at 1:11 a.m. provided transportation for pedestrians on West Pioneer Avenue.

A caller at 1:57 a.m. reported a disturbance in a local business on the Sterling Highway. Officers issued the individuals trespass notices.

A caller at 10:23 a.m. reported damage to property on Bartlett Street. An officer responded to the location and noted no hazard or damage.

A business at 12:57 p.m. on the Homer Bypass reported a suspicious package. An officer went to the scene, and the bag was placed in lost and found.

An officer at 4:30 p.m. assisted a driver with a disabled vehicle at Ben Walters Road and East End Road.

Officers at 5 p.m. issued a 48-year-old man a summons for driving without insurance at Ohlson Lane and the Homer Bypass.

Officers at 6:25 p.m. issued a 57-year-old man a summons for driving without license or registration on West Pioneer Avenue.

Feb. 4

A caller at 1:45 a.m. reported that a man had tried to buy drugs from the caller on Pioneer Avenue and then driven away. Officers responded to the location.

A business at 6:18 p.m. requested that an officer respond to remove an unruly guest at the business on the Sterling Highway. An officer went to the location and advised the guest to leave. The officer arrested the 39-year-old woman for disorderly conduct, trespassing and resisting arrest.

An officer at 8:44 p.m. assisted Alaska State Troopers with a traffic stop at East End Road and East Hill Road.

Feb. 5

A caller at 8:08 a.m. reported a motor vehicle crash at Pioneer Avenue and Heath Street that had caused damage. An officer responded to the scene and advised the people involved fill out a report.

An officer at 8:33 a.m. warned a driver for speeding in a school zone at Pioneer Avenue and the Homer Bypass.

A caller at 3:41 p.m. requested assistance with removing a man from a business on East End Road. The man left in a vehicle. An officer contacted the vehicle and the man, and arrested him for driving under the influence. The 61-year-old man was taken to the Homer Jail, where he was also charged with refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Feb. 6

An officer at 2:07 a.m. stood by for traffic control while a tractor trailer was stuck in the roadway at Mile 169 Sterling Highway.

A caller at 10:33 a.m. reported a big explosion at a neighbor’s house on Tamara Street, but reported there were no flames. An officer and the fire department responded to the scene.

An officer at 3:32 p.m. attemped to contact a wanted person on Lakeshore Drive. The officer attested a 25-year-old man on a warrant for failing to appear for a court hearing.

An agency at 5:20 p.m. requested assistance on Tamara Street. An officer responded to the scene.

A person at 5:40 p.m. went to the Homer Police station counter to report strange things done to her car. An officer brought the woman to the hospital.

A caller at 9:34 p.m. reported a dog with no owner around that was at Mile 0.5 Spit Road. An officer went to the area and observed the dog running on the beach. It would not let the officer get close to it.

Feb. 7

A caller at 2:52 p.m. requested a welfare check on an intoxicated man on foot on West Bunnell Avenue. An officer went to the scene and gave the man a ride.

A caller at 2:59 p.m. reported a woman placed items in her pocket on Greatland Street. An officer responded to the area.

An officer at 3:39 p.m. warned a driver for failing to come to a complete stop at Ocean Driver and FAA Road.

A caller at 4:12 p.m. requested a welfare check on an employee on Lake Street. An officer contacted the employee and found all was OK.

A caller at 4:55 p.m. reported a vehicle in the roadway with its flashers on at Main Street and Fairview Avenue. An officer responded to the scene.

A caller at 5:49 p.m. reported an unattended campfire with no one around on Crittenden Drive. The caller reported it was only smoke with no flames. An officer responded to the area but was unable to locate it.

A caller at 6:37 p.m. reported a suicidal person on Jenny Way. An officer went to the scene and took the person to South Peninsula Hospital for evaluation. The person later walked away from the hospital and was contacted again. They were medically cleared and taken to the Homer Jail for protective custody.

A caller at 8:01 p.m. reported being held hostage and beat up on the Homer Bypass. Officers responded to the scene and found the call was unfounded.

Feb. 8

An officer at 10:23 a.m. warned a driver for failing to stop before entering the roadway on the Homer Bypass.

An officer at 11:16 a.m. warned a driver for speeding at Lake Street and Grubstake Avenue.

An officer at 11:31 a.m. warned a driver for speeding at Lake Street and Pioneer Street.

An officer at 12:46 p.m. warned a driver for speeding at East End Road and East Hill Road.

Officers at 3:01 p.m. responded along with medics to an unattended death on Sabrina Road.

A caller at 7:15 p.m. reported a small dog tied up at a store on the Homer Bypass for an extended period of time. An officer responded to the scene and the owner was reuinted with the dog.

A caller at 11:24 p.m. reported a man outside trying to get into the caller’s home on East Rangeview Avenue. Officers responded to the scene.

Feb. 9

A caller at 3:13 a.m. reported a man loitering outside of a local business on the Homer Bypass. Officers responded to the location.

A caller at 7:47 a.m. reported a person that needed to be kept from trespassing on the Homer Bypass. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 7:59 a.m. reported a motor vhecile collision with a moose at East Skyline Drive and Cearwater Drive. An officer responded to the scene and advised the driver to fill out an accident report form. The moose walked away.

A caller at 9:51 a.m. made a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) report about a vehicle at Heath Street and East Fairview Avenue. An officer contracted the driver and gave out a warning for unsafe driving.

An officer at 1:21 a.m. made a public appearance on East Pioneer Avenue.

A caller at 4:53 p.m. reported a vehicle on a restricted area of the beach at mile .5 of Spit Road. An officer responded to the area and warned the driver for having expired registration.

A caller at 8:05 p.m. reported an issue with a man inside a business on East End Road. Officers responded to the scene.

A caller at 9:30 p.m. reported two people walking down the middle of the street on West Pioneer Avenue causing a disturbance. Officers responded to the location.

Feb. 10

A caller at 12:39 a.m. reported a disturbance at a neighboring home on East Fairview Avenue. Officers responded to the location.

A caller at 4:08 a.m. reported that a man had assaulted her on East Pioneer Avenye. Officers responded to the location.

An officer at 9 p.m. assisted the Alaska State Troopers with a probations vehicle search at mile 159 of the Sterling Highway.

A caller at 10:50 p.m. reported men yelling on Bunnell Avenue. An officer responded to the scene and contacted the two men. The officer found no signs of altercation and the men said they may have been being loud.

Feb. 11

A caller at 1:17 a.m. made a noise complaint of a local bar on East Pioneer Avenue. An officer responded to the location.

A caller at 1:50 a.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle on East Pioneer Avenue. An officer responded to the location but was unable to locate the vehicle.

Feb. 12

A caller at 3:58 a.m. made a REDDI report on a driver on Svedlund Street. An officer responded to the location but was unable to locate the vehicle.

An officer at 8:42 a.m. warned a driver for speeding in a school zone on the Sterling Highway.

A caller at 10:50 a.m. reported that he had witnessed a domestic dispute within a vehicle on Ocean Drive. An officer responded to the location and arrested a 37-year-old man for fourth-degree assault.

A caller at 6:24 p.m. reported an unruly teen making threats on Jenny Way. An officer responded to the location.
