Dec. 19
A caller at 8:50 a.m. reported a motor vehicle accident causing damage on East End Road. An officer responded to the scene.
A caller at 5:06 p.m. reported a motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian at Bartlett Street and Soundview Avenue.
A man at 11:08 p.m. was arrested on an outstanding warrant at Mile 1 East End Road. The 48-year-old man was also charged with resisting arrest and violating conditions of parole.
Dec. 20
A caller at 4:47 a.m. reported hearing a woman screaming on Ocean Drive. Officers responded to the area and arrested a 30-year-old man for assault.
A caller at 12:44 p.m. reported a shoplifter at a local business on the Homer Bypass. The man was issued an advisement to stay away from the location.
A caller at 9:04 p.m. made a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) report on a vehicle at Ocean Drive and FAA Road. Officers responded to the area and contacted the driver. No impairment was noted.
A caller at 10:51 p.m. requested a security check for an area on Ocean Driver. An officer responded to the location and found all was OK.
A caller at 11:52 p.m. reported a suspicious person on East Fairview Avenue. Officers responded to the location.
Dec. 21
A caller at 1:34 a.m. reported a person sitting in a vehicle in a parking lot running for an hour at Svedlund Street and Herndon Drive. An officer made contact with the vehicle’s occupant and found all was OK.
Officers at 4:54 a.m. cited a woman for driving without a driver’s license at Main Street and Ohlson Lane. A man was also arrested in relationship to an earlier incident on Dec. 20.
A caller at 5:55 p.m. reported having a shoplifter in custody at a business on Lake Street. An officer went to the scene and charges were referred to the Division of Juvenile Justice for a girl for concealment of merchandise.
A caller at 11:28 a.m. reported a suspicious group of people near vehicles in a residential parking area on Linda Court. An officer went to the scene and found all was OK.
Dec. 22
A caller at 6:47 a.m. reported a domestic disturbance on East Pioneer Avenue. An officer responded to the scene.
An alarm company at 8:50 a.m. reported a residential alarm on the Sterling Highway. An officer went to the scene and found it had been an accidental activation by an employee.
An officer at 9:05 a.m. warned a driver for speeding at Mile 169 Sterling Highway.
An agency other than the Alaska State Troopers at 12:59 p.m. notified Homer police of a vessel at anchor at Freight Dick Road that was in imminent danger. It was moved into the harbor and moored.
Dec. 23
A caller at 12:41 p.m. reported a shoplifter at a business on Greatland Street. An officer went to the scene and issued one 76-year-old man a summons for fourth-degree theft.
A caller at 1:55 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle “drifting” into a parking lot on the Homer Bypass. An officer could not locate the vehicle at first. When the officer later contacted the driver at Main Street and Danview, he was warned about his driving habits.
A caller at 2:43 p.m. reported a man causing a disturbance on Heath Street. Officers responded to the scene.
Dec. 24
An officer at 3:43 a.m. contacted a vehicle in the ditch that was occupied, at West Hill Road and the Sterling Highway. A 22-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence and was taken to the Homer Jail.
A driver at 11:28 p.m. was given a misdemeanor citation for negligent driving on the Homer Bypass.
A caller at 11:44 a.m. reported a man sleeping at a business on East Pioneer Avenue after hours. The man was given a disorderly conduct warning.
A caller at 5:32 p.m. reported a man causing a disturbance on Bartlett Street. An officer went to the location but the man was gone on arrival. The officer later contacted the 54-year-old man and arrested him for disorderly conduct.
Dec. 25
A caller at 5:31 a.m. reported a man yelling for help on Main Street. Officers went to the scene, made contact with the man, who was intoxicated, and found all was OK.
An officer at 11:10 a.m. conducted a security check of a business and the park on Ben Walters Lane and noticed vandalism.
A caller at 1:15 p.m. reported a man making threats on the Homer Bypass. Officers responded to the area and arrested the 54-year-old man for trespassing.
A caller at 4:09 p.m. reported ATVs in the area on Skyline Driver that were disturbing Christmas dinner and possibly riding on “no trespass” property. An officer was advised.
A caller at 8:10 p.m. reported fireworks in the area of Katie Jean Circle and Skyline Driver. An officer went to the area but noted nothing.
Troopers
Dec. 19
Alaska State Troopers at 17:52 p.m. responded to a REDDI report near mile 9 East End Road. An investigation showed a 68-year-old Homer man was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The man was arrested and remanded into the Homer Jail where bail was set at $500.
Dec. 22
Alaska State Troopers from Soldotna at 2:51 a.m. responded to the area of the Sterling Highway and Old Sterling Highway in Anchor Point for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival troopers contacted a female involved in the disturbance identified as a 36-year-old Homer resident. Investigation revealed she had an outstanding $250 warrant for her arrest for failing to appear on the original charge of operating a motor vehicle without insurance. The woman was arrested and transported to Homer Pretrial where she was remanded.
Dec. 25
Alaska State Troopers at 12:16 a.m. responded to a single vehicle rollover on North Fork Road near Lichen Street. An investigation showed an 18-year-old Fairbanks woman had been driving the vehicle at the time of the crash. She and her passengers fled the scene on foot and were located later by troopers. The woman and a 23-year-old Fairbanks man initially reported the third person in the vehicle was driving at the time of the crash. She later admitted to driving and falsely claimed the other passenger was driving. She was given a summons for making a false report and failing to report a crash. The man was charged with making a false report.
Alaska State Troopers at 9:43 a.m. responded to an address on Airpark Court in Anchor Point for a report of a deceased male. An investigation showed at 53-year-old Anchor Point man had died of natural causes sometime during the night. The body was transported to the hospital morgue pending retrieval from the local mortuary.

Bailey M. Crocker, 31, pleaded guilty to third-degree theft. She was sentenced to 15 days in jail with 15 days suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund, a $100 jail surcharge with $100 suspended; ordered to pay restitution; ordered to perform 40 hours of community work service; and was placed on probation for one year.
Nicolas J. Salzano, 40, San Francisco, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence. He was fined $2,000 with $500 suspended and sentenced to 30 days in jail with 27 days suspended; ordered to pay $75 to support the Police Training Fund, a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended and the cost of electronic monitoring in California; ordered to attend an alcohol safety action program and install an ignition interlock device; had his driver’s license revoked for 90 days; and was placed on probation for one year.
Demetri Tanape, 50, Port Graham, pleaded no contest to driving under the influence. He was fined $2,000 with $500 suspended and sentenced to 30 days in jail with 27 days suspended; ordered to pay $75 to support the Police Training Fund, a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended and the $66 cost of monitoring; ordered to attend an alcohol safety action program and install an ignition interlock device; had his driver’s license revoked for 90 days; and was placed on probation for one year.
Micah M. Price, 26, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree misconduct involving weapons. He was fined $500 with $500 suspended and sentenced to 30 days in jail with 30 days suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund, a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended; ordered to forfeit weapon seized; and was placed on probation for one year.
David Ellenberg, 31, pleaded guilty to violating a domestic violence protective order. He was fined $500 with $500 suspended and sentenced to 30 days in jail with 29 days suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund, a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended; ordered not to have contact with his victim; and was placed on probation for one year.
