A caller at 5:12 p.m. reported a car crash with damage on East Fairview Avenue. An officer went to the scene.
A caller at 9:02 p.m. reported one or two ATVs tearing up property in the area of Skyline and Tulin Terrace. Officers went to the scene.
Oct. 11
A caller at 2:11 a.m. reported an unknown man attempting to break into a home on East Bayview Avenue. Officers went to the scene.
A caller at 9:17 a.m. reported a person who needed to be removed from property on Mattox Street. An officer went to the scene and advised the person of the trespass notice.
A caller at 6 p.m. reported a man was chasing him on East End Road. An officer went to the scene.
An off-duty officer at 6:44 p.m. observed a driver engaging in misconduct involving a controlled substance at Main Street and Ohlson Lane and made a Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately (REDDI) report.
Oct. 12
A caller at 11:27 a.m. reported an abandoned vehicle at Rogers Loop and the Sterling Highway. An officer went to the scene and the vehicle was towed.
Alaska State Troopers at 2:50 p.m. requested assistance for a vehicle in the ditch at Mile 7 East End Road. An officer went to the scene.
A caller at 4:27 p.m. reported a person in the area of East End Road. An officer contacted the person and arrested a 36-year-old woman on a warrant. She was also charged with two counts of misconduct involving controlled substances in the fourth degree.
Oct. 13
A caller at 5:50 a.m. reported suspicious property found at a business on Shelford Street. An officer went to the scene and the property was turned over.
Officers at 9:49 a.m. provided an escort for the Homer High School football team at Pioneer Avenue and the Sterling Highway.
An officer at 2:21 p.m. made a traffic stop on West Soundview Avenue and warned a driving for passing in a no passing zone.
An officer at 2:45 p.m. made a traffic stop on West Soundview Avenue and warned a driver for failing to yield to oncoming traffic.
An officer at 3:42 p.m. made a traffic stop on the Sterling Highway and an 18-year-old man was summoned for driving without license or registration.
Oct. 14
A 23-year-old man at 12:48 a.m. was arrested on East Pioneer Avenue for driving under the influence of alcohol and was taken to the Homer Jail.
A caller at 2:07 p.m. reported an assault after the fact on the Homer Bypass. An officer went to the location.
A caller at 6:19 p.m. reported minors getting into the trunk of a vehicle on the Homer Bypass. An officer went to the location and found that all was OK and that the minors were making a video.
A caller at 8:27 p.m. made a REDDI report of a vehicle speeding excessively on the Homer Bypass. An officer went to the scene and warned the driver for speeding and a mudflap violation.
A caller at 11:15 p.m. reported a man violating conditions of release and possibly attempting to drive while intoxicated on East Pioneer Avenue. An officer put out a “be on the lookout” for the area, and no violations were found.
Oct. 15
A caller at 12:13 p.m. reported a man following him on Hazel Avenue. An officer went to the location and contacted the people involved. The officer found that no crime had been committed.
A caller at 8:16 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Kachemak Drive and Spit Road. An officer went to the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.
Oct. 16
An agency at 12:21 a.m. reported a possible crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Ben Walters Lane. Officers went to the reported location, but the parties were gone on arrival. Officers contacted the victim at a home and provided them with transportation to the hospital.
A caller at 6:37 a.m. reported concern for a man staggering near and in the roadway on East End Road. An officer went to the area.
An officer at 9:02 a.m. warned a driver for speeding in a school zone at Pioneer Avenue and Greatland.
An officer at 9:05 a.m. warned a driver for speeding in a school zone at Bowers Street and the Sterling Highway.
A caller at 9:08 a.m. reported graffiti on a building on Greatland Street. An officer went to the scene and found the incident had happened on Oct. 13.
A caller at 10:32 a.m. requested a welfare check on a former employee on Kachemak Way. An officer went to the home, but no one was home. The former employee was contacted on their cellphone and all was OK.
A caller at 1:34 p.m. reported vehicles parked on the street at Mattox Road and Iris Court. An officer was advised and a parking warning was left on a vehicle.
A caller at 1:55 p.m. reported an abandoned vehicle blocking a driveway and within the city easement on East Hill Road. An officer was advised and the vehicle was impounded.
A caller at 7:20 p.m. reported harassment on Ben Walters Lane. An officer went to the location.
A caller at 9:38 p.m. reported a man slumped over in his vehicle on the Sterling Highway. Officers went to the scene and charged a 31-year-old man for driving while intoxicated by drugs.
An officer at 10:25 p.m. issued a driver a summons for misuse of plates at Bay Vista and the Sterling Highway. The vehicle was towed.
Troopers
Oct. 14
Alaska State Troopers at approximately 9:19 p.m. received a report of a burglary in progress near Anchor Point. Troopers responded to the location and contacted a male who refused to identify himself. Troopers attempted to detain the male and he fought with the Trooper and a Taser was deployed. The male was taken into custody and troopers identified the 24-year-old Anchor Point man. Investigation revealed that the man, who is a convicted felon, had an outstanding arrest warrant and was in possession of a handgun that had its serial number removed. He was transported to the Homer Jail where he was remanded on numerous charges.
Oct. 16
Alaska State Troopers at 10:34 a.m. received a report of a theft from a man in Ninilchik. The man reported sometime in the last two weeks his Dolmar chainsaw had come up missing. He believes it was stolen around Oct. 5. He had left it in his yard and around 3 a.m. hours on Oct. 5 he heard and saw a vehicle on the highway. He believed the vehicle was leaving his driveway. He described the vehicle as an older pickup grey primer colored with a loud exhaust. The investigation is ongoing
Alaska State Troopers at 8 a.m. received a report of a burglary near mile 10 East End Road. A man reported to Troopers that sometime within the previous three days unknown person(s) forced entry to his shop and stole several chainsaws and other handheld tools. The total value of the stolen property is estimated at $1500-$2000. The investigation is ongoing.

Judgments
Helen M. Igou, 51, charge dismissed, no motor vehicle liability insurance.
Matthew D. Kidd, 37, charge dismissed, fourth-degree assault (cause fear of injury). Kidd pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault (recklessly injure). He was fined $1,000 with $1,000 suspended and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 150 days suspended with credit for time served; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund and a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended; ordered to complete a batterer’s intervention program and give a DNA sample if requested by an officer of the state; placed on probation for two years; and ordered not to have contact with his victim.
Anthony J. Davis, 26, charge dismissed, no motor vehicle liability insurance. Davis pleaded guilty to driving without a valid operators license. He was fined $150 with nothing suspended and ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund.
Mike C. Thacker, 60, charge dismissed, unlawful possession or transportation of game. Thacker pleaded guilty to violating hunting seasons and bag limits for moose in Unit 15, a Class A misdemeanor. He was fined $5,000 with $2,500 suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund and restitution; and placed on probation for one year.
Stephen D. Smith, 66, charges dismissed, driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Smith pleaded guilty to a different charge of driving under the influence. He was fined $3,000 with $1,500 suspended and sentenced to 30 days in jail or on monitoring with 15 days suspended; ordered to pay $75 to support the Police Training Fund, a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended and the $234 cost of imprisonment or monitoring; ordered to attend an alcohol safety action program and install an ignition interlock device; had his driver’s license revoked for 90 days; and was placed on probation for one year.
Christopher R. Hill, 22, charge dismissed, second-degree criminal trespass. Hill pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault. He was fined $2,000 with $2,000 suspended and sentenced to 90 days in jail with 89 days suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund, a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended and restitution in an amount to be determined; ordered to give a DNA sample if requested by an officer on the state’s behalf, and to not have contact with the Alibi Bar; and placed on probation for one year.
Mark C. McGregor, 22, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence. He was fined $2,000 with $500 suspended and sentenced to 30 days in jail or on monitoring with 27 days suspended; ordered to pay $75 to support the Police Training Fund, a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended and the $66 cost of imprisonment or monitoring; ordered to attend an alcohol safety action program and install an ignition interlock device; had his driver’s license revoked for 90 days; and was placed on probation for one year.

David J. Treat, 62, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession or transportation of game. He was fined $5,000 with $2,000 suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund and restitution; and placed on probation for one year.
David D. Eason, 44, pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal trespass. He was fined $1,000 with $500 suspended and sentenced to 30 days in jail with 30 days suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund and a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended; placed on probation for one year; and ordered not to have contact with the dwelling where he trespassed or the person that lives there.
Antonida Basargin, 56, pleaded guilty to failing to stop at the direction of a peace officer. Basargin was fined $500 with $250 suspended and sentenced to 10 days in jail with 10 days suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund and a $100 suspended jail surcharge; and placed on probation for one year.
