Officers at 7:58 p.m. responded to a medical facility on Bartlett Street to assist with a patient.

Aug. 25

Officers at 12:32 a.m. assisted someone with a medical issue on East Pioneer Avenue and provided transportation to a medical facility.

An officer at 2:52 a.m. conducted a traffic stop at Main Street and the Homer Bypass. A woman was arrested for driving under the influence and was taken to the Homer Jail.

A caller at 7:42 a.m. requested a welfare check for someone on Bay Avenue. An officer went to the scene and found the man was OK.

A caller at 2:34 p.m. reported a victim of domestic violence on Bartlett Street. An officer went to the scene and a man was charged with assault.

A caller at 7:50 p.m. reported chronic, excessive dog barking on Miller Lane. An officer went to the scene and the animal control office was advised.

Aug. 26

An officer at 1:50 a.m. made a traffic stop at Pioneer Avenue and Main Street. A man was arrested for driving under the influence and taken to the Homer Jail.

A caller at 10:05 a.m. reported a suspicious vehicle across from a business at Mile 1 Kachemak Drive. An officer went to the scene and found all was OK.

A medical facility at 6:23 p.m. reported a dog bite at Karen Hornaday Park. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 11:57 p.m. reported an intoxicated man in a white truck hit another vehicle at Mile 5 Spit Road. Officers went to the scene, and the man was arrested for driving under the influence and was taken to the Homer Jail.

Aug. 27

A caller at 2:44 a.m. reported an intoxicated person passed out in a business lobby on West Bunnell Avenue. An officer went to the scene and transportation was provided to the person’s home.

An anonymous caller at 1:55 p.m. reported a possibly non-compliant sex offender in the Homer area. An officer applied for an arrest warrant.

A caller at 2:46 p.m. reported a lost purse on East Bunnell Avenue. An officer went to the scene and located the purse, but was unable to locate it. The city Parks and Recreation Department was notified.

Aug. 28

A caller at 2:39 a.m. reported hearing a disturbance in a home on Lee Drive involving three people. An officer went to the scene.

Aug. 29

Medics at 11:54 a.m. requested officer assistance on Jenny Way. An officer went to the scene and a patient was taken to the hospital.

An alarm company at 3:50 p.m. reported a burglar alarm on Mission Road. An officer went to the scene and found all was OK.

A caller at 9:52 p.m. reported an intoxicated man at a business on the Homer Bypass getting ready to drive. The man was arrested for driving under the influence.

Aug. 30

A person at 10:37 a.m. made a 911 call to report a man harming himself on Waddell Street. An officer and medics went to the scene.

An agency at 11:51 a.m. requested assistance with contacting a minor on the Sterling Highway. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 8:02 p.m. reported ATV issues on Mattox Road. An officer went to the scene, contacted the people and advised them on ATV rules.

A woman at 8:31 p.m. presented at the police station counter to request a welfare check on a man having difficulty riding a bicycle and who almost fell into traffic on the Homer Bypass. An officer went to the scene but was unable to locate the man.

A caller at 10:29 p.m. reported a suspicious vehicle on East Pioneer Avenue. An officer patrolled the area.

Aug. 31

A 911 caller at 3:33 p.m. reported a possible drug overdose on Bay Vista Court. Officers and medics went to the scene. The patient refused to be transported.

A person at 4:38 p.m. made a 911 call to report that a woman had knocked on her door at a Sterling Highway home and told the caller she had performed CPR on a man and that he had jumped up and ran away. The woman had said she was looking for him, according to the caller. An officer went to the area.

A caller at 8:03 p.m. requested a welfare check on a man who was possibly passed out on Bonanza Trail. An officer went to the scene and found all was OK.

A caller at 10:19 p.m. reported an intoxicated woman drove away from a bar on the Spit. An officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.

Sept. 1

An officer at 7:54 a.m. warned a driver for speeding in a school zone at East End Road and Rhonda Street.

An officer at 12:24 p.m. assisted a man with a writ of assistance and attempted to serve a temporary restraining order on FAA Road. They were unable to locate the subject.

An officer at 1:09 p.m. responded with medics to a vehicle accident with injuries on the Homer Bypass.

A person at 4:09 p.m. made a 911 call and a Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately (REDDI) report of a driver who passed a line of stopped vehicles that were letting pedestrians cross at Mile 3 Spit Road, and in doing so almost hit a small child. An officer went to the area.

A caller at 4:45 p.m. requested a welfare check on their girlfriend on Spit Road. An officer went to the area but was unable to locate the woman.

A caller at 5:42 p.m. requested a welfare check for someone on Greatland Street. An officer and medics went to the scene and found all was OK.

A caller at 6:06 p.m. requested a welfare check on a suicidal person near Bishop’s Beach. An officer and medics went to the area but were unable to locate the person.

A caller at 7:44 p.m. reported hearing possible gunfire near Soundview Avenue and Forest Glen Drive. An officer went to the area but was unable to locate the source.

A caller at 10:45 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle on Ocean Drive. Officers went to the area and were unable to locate the vehicle, but later contacted it. A 40-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence and was taken to the Homer Jail.

Sept. 2

A caller at 1:37 a.m. requested help with a customer on East Pioneer Avenue. Officers went to the scene and arrested a 22-year-old man for fourth-degree assault and criminal trespass.

An officer at 2:23 a.m. made a traffic stop at Lake Street and Ben Walters Lane, and arrested a 23-year-old man for driving under the influence. He was taken to the Homer Jail.

An officer at 5:58 a.m. made a traffic stop on Bartlett Street. A 21-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence and was taken to the Homer Jail.

A caller at 10:43 a.m. reported a small brush fire on a walking trail at Klondike Avenue. An officer went to the scene and assisted firefighters.

A person at 12:11 p.m. made a 911 call to report an intoxicated woman at a business drove over two curbs and hit a parked vehicle before driving off. An officer went to the area and made contact with the driver. A 45-year-old woman was arrested for DUI.

A caller at 12:42 p.m. reported a vehicle accident with damage and a possibly intoxicated driver in the parking lot of a business on Heath Street. An officer went to the scene and arrested a 66-year-old man for DUI.

A person at 9:49 p.m. made a 911 call to report a disturbance at a home on Early Spring Street. Officers went to the scene and a woman was issued a trespass notice.

A person at 10:12 p.m. made a 911 call reporting his ex girlfriend was suicidal and had a knife on East End Road. Officers went to the scene and found all was OK. The subjects were taken elsewhere.

Sept. 3

An officer at 2:57 a.m. made a routine traffic stop at West Hill and Eric Lane, and issued two juveniles citations for minors consuming alcohol.

A cab driver at 3:59 a.m. went to the Homer Police Department with an intoxicated person passed out in their vehicle. The man was taken to the emergency room by the cab driver.

A caller at 7:33 a.m. asked for an officer to help him with removing a trespasser on East End Road. An officer went to the area but no one was found inside the building.

Sept. 4

A caller at 9:40 a.m. reported a plane partially submerged in Beluga Lake. An officer went to the area and a message was left for the registered owner.

An officer at 7:03 p.m. warned a driver at Spit Road and Kachemak Drive for distracted driving and using an electronic device.

Troopers

Aug. 28

Alaska State Troopers at 12:24 p.m. responded to the community of Nikolaevsk for a report of a disturbance. An investigation showed a man had instigated a fight with another male over an incident which had occurred the previous night. Based on the investigation the man was charged with disorderly conduct.

Aug. 29

Alaska State Troopers at about 3:30 p.m. along with probation officers attempted to contact and arrest a 42-year-old Nikolaevsk man at his residence on an outstanding arrest warrant and for violating his probation conditions. The man was eventually contacted inside the residence and arrested. A 46-year-old Nikolaevsk woman was also arrested for hindering prosecution and violating her conditions of release. Troopers arrested the man and woman and took them to the Homer Jail.
