Firefighters at 11:39 a.m. went to a report of an unattended camp fire at Bishop’s Beach that was spreading into nearby vegetation. Alaska Division of Forestry wildland firefighters responded and helped put out the fire. The fire was contained to driftwood logs and had not spread to grass.

A man at 11:05 a.m. came to the police station to report credit card fraud.
An officer at 2:53 p.m. served a domestic violence restraining order on a person at a Grubstake Avenue address.
A caller at 5:23 p.m. reported a disheveled looking man walking down Ben Walters Lane and carrying a blanket. Police responded.
A man at 5:30 p.m. turned in found property at the police station.
A caller at 5:41 p.m. made a “report every dangerous driver immediately” complaint of a person driving and crossing the fog or white inside-lane lines numerous times inbound to Homer on the Sterling Highway. Police contacted the suspect and did not find any impairment.
A person at 6:04 p.m. made a 911 call of a truck pulling a trailer and losing firewood onto the Sterling Highway near Mount Augustine Road. Police contacted the driver.
A person at 6:25 p.m. came to the station with two counterfeit bills.
A caller at 6:47 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a distraught woman on the side of Ocean Drive. Police responded.
A caller at 8:05 p.m. reported smelling cannabis from a van parked in a cul-de-sac on Horizon Court. The caller said the driver peeled out when the caller arrived. Police contacted the suspect vehicle.
A caller at 8:27 p.m. reported a loose dog dragging a chain on Lupine Court. Police responded.
A person at 9:06 p.m. made a 911 call reporting a possibly drunk woman harassing a man in the parking lot of a Sterling Highway business. Police responded.
A caller at 11:03 p.m. reported being accidentally locked out of a Crittenden Drive hotel room. Police contacted the hotel owner. All was OK.

A caller at 7:06 a.m. reported suspicious circumstances at a Sterling Highway address. Police responded and found all was OK.
A woman at 11:32 a.m. came to the station and asked to speak to an officer in reference to court orders. An officer provided options.
A caller at 3:01 p.m. reported a domestic dispute over child custody at Karen Hornaday Park. Police responded.
A person at 6:41 p.m. made a 911 call reporting a crash involving a semi-tractor trailer and another vehicle.
A caller at 6:54 p.m. reported someone damaged his mailbox on Kachemak Drive.
A person at 10:24 p.m. reported men smoking cannabis in a parked vehicle on the Spit.
May 21
Police at 2:36 a.m. made a traffic stop on a driver in a vehicle on South Slope Road and warned the driver for driving under the influence, drugs.
A caller at 3:26 a.m. reported an attempted assault.
A person at 4:48 a.m. made a 911 call of a man acting erratically at the Baycrest Hill pull-out on the Sterling Highway. The man banged on occupied cars and shouted profanities in the parking lot. Police responded and arrested a 26-year-old man for disorderly conduct, harassment and criminal mischief.
A caller at 7:49 a.m. asked for a security check of a Ben Walters Lane home due to suspicious circumstances. Police responded.
A person at 10:15 a.m. made a 911 call of a man walking in the road on the Sterling Highway. Police responded.
A caller at 11:12 a.m. asked police for extra patrols due to illegal dumping after hours at a Main Street business.
A caller at 12:30 p.m. reported suspicious vehicles behind Homer High School. Police responded and contacted a driver.
Police at 2:58 p.m. went to a Bartlett Street address and took a woman into protective custody.
A person at 6:32 p.m. made a 911 call of a verbal dispute at a Bartlett Street address. Police responded but did not find a crime articulated.
A caller at 6:32 p.m. asked that a person be issued a trespass notice from a Greatland Street building.
A caller at 10:15 p.m. reported a domestic disturbance at a Calhoun Court address. Police responded and arrested a 38-year-old woman for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.
May 22
A caller at 8:06 a.m. reported vandalism to his boat. Police responded and arrested a 46-year-old man for burglary, trespass, third- and fourth-degree theft, and criminal mischief.
A person at 11:53 a.m. made a 911 call reporting a domestic dispute at a Danview Avenue home. Police responded but did not find a crime articulated.
Police at 2:05 p.m. contacted parties involved in a domestic dispute at a Sterling Highway address.
An officer at 3:25 p.m. assisted a caller with providing information on cannabis regulations.
A woman at 6:10 p.m. came to the police station to report a stolen purse and phone. She later reported finding the items.
A caller at 6:48 p.m. reported a kite boarder on the Spit causing a traffic hazard.
A person at 8:25 p.m. reported hearing yelling and screaming at Karen Hornaday Park. Police responded.
A caller at 11:05 p.m. asked police to do a welfare heck on a woman at a Sterling Highway business. Police responded.
May 23
Police at 12:08 a.m. contacted a 32-year-old man driving on East End Road and arrested him for DUI and cited him for driving while license suspended.
A caller at 10:45 a.m. reported an ongoing parking issue with a person on Ocean Drive Loop. Police responded and did not see any parking violations.
A caller at 11:37 a.m. reported people trespassing on private property on Horizon Court. Police contacted the people and asked them to leave.
A caller at 12:29 p.m. reported the theft of a bicycle.
A person at 2:47 p.m. made a 911 call of a couple arguing at Karen Hornaday Park Campground. Police responded and issued indefinite trespass notices to the couple from the campground.
A caller at 6:03 p.m. reported an aggressive moose charging his dog pen on Lincoln Drive. Police responded.
A person at 9:15 p.m. came to the station with a found husky. Police escorted the person to the animal shelter to secure the dog. The owner later called back and police were able to return the dog.
A caller at 10:44 p.m. reported a person in a suspicious vehicle driving back and forth a Soundview Avenue house. Police responded.
May 24
A caller at 12:01 a.m. reported a woman talking to herself on the Sterling Highway who appeared to be in distress. Police responded and found all was OK.
A caller at 1:44 a.m. reported people at a Blue Sky Avenue address who were drinking, being loud and keeping the caller from sleeping. Police responded.
A security company at 4:05 a.m. reported an alarm at a Sterling Highway business. Police found evidence of forced entry and secured the building. Police also called the business owner.
A caller at 9:08 a.m. reported a person peddling electronics from a car parked at a Sterling Highway address. Police contacted the subjects and advised them of city code regarding itinerant merchants.
A person at 10:57 a.m. made a 911 call of a burglary at a Kachemak Drive home. Police responded.
A caller at 12:05 p.m. reported someone stole signs that read “hate has no home here” from a Melody Rose Lane home. At 6:45 a.m. May 26 the caller reported a similar sign was stolen.
A caller at 12:43 p.m. reported someone trespassing on private property at a Pioneer Avenue address. Police responded.
A caller at 2:05 p.m. reported a theft from a vehicle parked at a Main Street address.
Police at 2:48 p.m. contacted a 29-year-old man at a Rochelle Road address and arrested him on two outstanding warrants.
A man at 5:23 p.m. reported the theft of a wallet while he was at work at a Lake Street address.
A caller at 5:40 p.m. reported someone threw a bottle at his vehicle on Hazel Street. Police responded.
A caller at 5:47 p.m. reported a man acted suspicious and requested advice.
A caller at 6:23 p.m. reported a shoplifter at a Greatland Street store.
A caller at 6:48 p.m. reported a drunk man was inside a Lake Street store and drove away toward the Spit at a high rate of speed. Police responded but could not find the suspect.

A caller at 9:54 a.m. reported finding possible drug paraphernalia at a Spit parking lot.
Several callers at 10:39 a.m. reported a phone scam.
A person at 10:59 a.m. made a 911 call of an injured seagull and a dead eagle near Mile 169 Sterling Highway. Police responded.
A caller at 12:35 p.m. reported a newborn moose calf separated from its mother on East End Road. Police notified the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
A caller at 2:30 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a woman at a Pioneer Avenue address. Police responded.
A person at 2:36 p.m. reported a disturbance with a tenant at a Pioneer Avenue address. Police responded.
A caller at 4:32 p.m. reported a woman driver on Lake Street showed signs of road rage. Police responded.

A person at 6:40 p.m. made a 911 call of a distraught man on Pioneer Avenue. Police responded.
A caller at 9:43 p.m. reported a man trespassing in a vacant building on Pioneer Avenue. Police responded.

Police at 1:52 a.m. stopped a 30-year-old woman driving on East End Road near Kramer Lane and arrested her for DUI.
A caller at 11:35 a.m. reported an unattended fire near a grassy area on Bishop’s Beach below Crittenden Drive.
An off-duty officer at 12:39 p.m. reported a temporary restraining order violation. Police arrested a 42-year-old man.
A person at 12:33 p.m. made a 911 call of unattended children in a vehicle parked at a Sterling Highway lot.
May 28
Police at 3:17 a.m. stopped a driver on East End Road and issued a DUI warning.
A person at 11:02 a.m. made a 911 call reporting someone breaking into a Waddell Way home. Police responded.
A caller at 2:52 p.m. reported a black bear cub on Svedlund Avenue.
A person at 6:09 p.m. made a 911 call of a hit-and-run crash on the Spit.
A person at 6:38 p.m. made a 911 call of vehicles driving down to a known party area on Whispering Meadows Drive. Police responded and advised the revelers that they were on private property and should leave the area.
A person at 7:38 p.m. made a 911 call of a physical altercation at a Sterling Highway address. Police responded and did not find a crime articulated. The parties separated for the night.
A caller at 10 p.m. reported people racing ATVs up and down the road on Golden Plover Court.
May 29
Police at 1:03 a.m. served a search warrant.
Police at 2:03 p.m. contacted a 42-year-old man driving on the Spit and issued him summons for driving without a valid operator’s license and not having insurance.
A caller at 3:37 p.m. reported hitting an underground powerline on Augusta Lane. Police notified Homer Electric Association.
A person at 5:18 p.m. made a 911 call reporting a dog chasing a moose on Forest Glen Drive.
A caller at 6:41 p.m. reported a dog in a car with no ventilation on the Spit.
Troopers
May 20
Alaska State Troopers at 9:31 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 51-year-old Anchor Point man near Mile 159 Sterling Highway. Troopers arrested the man for driving under the influence.
May 21
Troopers at 11:21 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 27-year-old Homer woman on the Sterling Highway near Baycrest Road. Troopers arrested her for DUI.
May 22
Troopers at 1:10 p.m. received reports of vandalism at McNeil Canyon Elementary School and the Kachemak Emergency Services Fire Station near the school. Following an investigation, troopers said a 41-year-old Anchorage woman tore up the school soccer fields by spinning doughnuts with her vehicle on the evening of May 21, causing $1,000 in damages. She then stole Smokey the Bear signs worth about $250 from the fire station. Troopers got a warrant and on May 25 arrested the woman.
At 10:16 p.m. troopers made a traffic stop on an 18-year-old Homer man on East End Road. They arrested him for DUI.
May 23
Troopers at 7:35 a.m. went to a Comic Circle home in Anchor Point for a disturbance. Troopers said a 37-year-old Anchor Point woman damaged numerous items inside the home. While being taken into custody, troopers said the woman kicked a trooper twice. Troopers arrested her for fourth-degree assault and fourth-degree assault on a police officer.
May 27
Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited a 54-year-old man in Ninilchik for failure to immediately record a king salmon on his sportfish license.
