Homer Police

June 25

A caller at 5:25 p.m. reported an unknown suspicious male in the area of Ben Walters Lane. An officer went to the area.

A caller at 6:41 p.m. reported suspicious circumstances on Ocean Drive Loop. An officer went to the area and determined that all was OK.

An officer at 7:35 p.m. arrested a 45-year-old man on two outstanding warrants on Homer Bypass Road.

A caller at 8:13 p.m. made a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) report on a vehicle at Kachemak Drive and Spit Road. An officer contacted the driver and didn’t note any impairment.

June 26

A caller at 11:20 a.m. went to the police station with information on a “possible prank” on Klondike Street.

A caller at 12:36 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at East End Road and East Hill Road. An officer went to the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.

An officer at 5:34 p.m. contacted two drivers who had been in a vehicle collision at Pioneer Avenue and the Sterling Highway.

A caller at 6:31 p.m. reported a domestic disturbance on Mattox Road. Officers went to the scene and separated the people involved for the night.

A caller at 9:25 p.m. reported a civil dispute with their neighbors on Rangeview Avenue. An officer went to the scene and found all was OK.

June 27

A caller at 1:30 a.m. reported a person sleeping under a tractor/trailer on Homer Bypass Road. The caller expressed concern because they “almost struck (the) subject when moving (a) truck.” An officer was advised and the person left the area.

A caller at 2:32 a.m. reported witnessing a verbal domestic altercation while they were driving at Crittenden Drive and the Sterling Highway. An officer was unable to locate the vehicle in question.

A caller at 12:55 p.m. reported a suspicious man at Spit Road and Freight Dock Road. An officer went to the area but was unable to locate anyone suspicious.

A caller at 4:02 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Fairview Avenue and East End Road. An officer contacted the driver and noted no impairment.

A caller at 5:14 p.m. reported several motocross riders creating a disturbance on Skyline Drive. An officer patrolled the area and was unable to find the riders.

An officer at 6:54 p.m. warned a driver for speeding at Mile 3 Spit Road.

A caller at 8:04 p.m. reported a possible drug transaction on Homer Bypass Road. An officer responded to the area.

An officer at 8:24 p.m. assisted the Homer Volunteer Fire Department on Bartlett Street.

A caller at 9:14 p.m. reported a domestic dispute at a home on Klondike Avenue. Officers went to the location and spoke with the male and female people involved.

A caller at 10:41 p.m. reported a loud party at a neighboring home on Spit Road. Officers went to the scene.

June 28

An officer at 1:08 a.m. spoke with a suspicious person on Heath Street.

A caller at 9:10 a.m. reported a wanted person on Lake Street. An officer responded and arrested the 45-year-old man on a warrant.

A woman at 10:50 a.m. went to the police station to report being stalked on Ocean Drive. An officer advised the woman of her options.

A caller at 11:21 a.m. reported a person who was possibly the victim of a scam on Homer Bypass Road. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 12:04 p.m. reported a vehicle partially in the roadway at East End Road and Jack Gist Lane. An officer responded to the location.

A caller at 12:09 p.m. reported an intoxicated woman refusing to leave a home on East Hill Road. An officer went to the scene and the woman ended up leaving in a cab.

A caller at 1:55 p.m. reported a possible break in on Pennock Street. Officers went to the location and discovered the report was unfounded.

Multiple callers at 2:28 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Lake Street and Pioneer Avenue. Officers contacted the driver and arrested the 28-year-old woman for driving while intoxicated.

A caller at 9:15 p.m. reported that a driver was using a compression engine brake within city limits. An officer went to the scene and contacted the driver about the issue.

June 29

A caller at 7:13 a.m. reported a man “passed out” behind the wheel of a vehicle that was in the ditch at Lee Street and Svedlund Street. Officers and medics went to the scene where the 53-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated and taken to the Homer Jail.

A caller at 7:22 a.m. reported that a couple was arguing outside of a gas station on the Sterling Highway. An officer went to the area but was unable to locate the couple.

A caller at 5:30 p.m. reported a suspicious man with possible stolen property on Lakeside Drive. An officer responded to the area.

A caller at 9:54 p.m. reported a noise complaint on West Bunnell Avenue. An officer went to the scene, contacted the people making noise and told them to turn their music down.

A caller at 10:01 p.m. reported a possible domestic dispute happening at a campground at Mile 3 Spit Road. Officers went to the location and contacted the people involved. Officers gave the woman a disorderly conduct warning.

June 30

A caller at 2:18 a.m. requested a welfare check be made on a woman on the Sterling Highway. Officers ended up arrested a 45-year-old intoxicated man on two separate charges of violating his conditions of release.

A caller at 1:03 p.m. reported possible squatters on Main Street. An officer went to the scene but was unable to locate anyone.

A caller at 4:40 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle coming into Homer around Mile 168 Sterling Highway. An officer contacted the driver but did not detect any impairment.

A caller at 5:58 p.m. made a REDDI report on a driver who the caller said was speeding and driving unsafely on Homer Bypass Road. An officer contacted the driver and did not note any impairment.

Multiple callers at 9:50 p.m. reported a noise complaint on West Pioneer Avenue. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 10:45 p.m. reported an intoxicated man driving in a campground at Mile 3 Spit Road. Officers went to the scene and arrested the 37-year-old man for driving under the influence and refusing a chemical test. He was taken to the Homer Jail.

A caller at 11:05 p.m. reported that RV campers were refusing to leave private property on Spit Road and that a man was “walking around without pants on.” An officer responded to the scene.

July 1

An officer at 1:59 a.m. assisted Alaska State Troopers at Mile 165 Sterling Highway.

An officer at 2:45 a.m. provided a person with transportation at East End Road and Bear Creek Road.

A caller at 3:27 a.m. reported a highly intoxicated man attempting to drive home on Pioneer Avenue. Officers went to the scene and contacted the man, who ended up taking a cab.

An officer at 4:39 a.m. contacted a parked vehicle on East Pioneer Avenue. The door was open with the lights on, and there was a man “slumped over behind the wheel.” The officer arrested the 22-year-old man for driving while intoxicated and took him to the Homer Jail.

A caller at 6:23 a.m. reported a possible break in on West Hill Road. An officer went to the area and found the report was unfounded.

A caller at 9:01 a.m. reported a man lying in the grass on Bartlett Avenue. The caller requested a welfare check. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 9:22 a.m. reported a traffic hazard on Kachemak Drive. An officer went to the area but was unable to find any hazard.

A caller at 5:07 p.m. reported suspicious people near their home on Klondike Avenue. An officer responded to the location.

A caller at 5:12 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Homer Bypass Road and Greatland Street. An officer contacted the driver and did not detect any impairment.

An officer at 6:32 p.m. gave a driver a citation for driving while their license was revoked on West Danview Avenue.

An officer at 7:27 p.m. gave a driver a citation for driving while their license was revoked at Pioneer Avenue and Bartlett Street.

A caller at 8 p.m. requested a welfare check on minors at Jack Gist Park. An officer went to the park and found all was OK.

Dispatchers around 10:55 p.m. got multiple 911 calls from the same caller on West Bunnell Avenue who continued to hang up. An officer went to the area, contacted the caller and gave them a warning to only call 911 with emergencies.

July 2

A caller at 2:13 a.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle on East Pioneer Avenue. Officers responded to the area and were unable to locate an intoxicated driver.

A caller at 6:34 a.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Mile 167 Sterling Highway. An officer contacted the driver.

A caller at 7:02 a.m. requested a welfare check on her daughter in the Homer area who she hadn’t heard from in over a week. An officer spoke with the caller.

A caller at 8:39 a.m. reported an unattended death on Diamond Creek Place. An officer responded to the scene.

A caller at 10:41 a.m. reported seeing a dog panting in a vehicle at Mile 3.5 Spit Road. An officer went to the location but was unable to locate the dog in question.

A caller at 1:54 p.m. made an accidental 911 call. Sounds of walking were heard on the other end. On a call back a man advised that all was OK.

An officer at 7:18 p.m. issued a summons to a 19-year-old man for a drivers license violation at Spruceview Avenue and Rogers Loop.

A caller at 11:03 p.m. reported a camping violtion on Artic Tern Place. An officer responded to the scene.

Troopers

June 24

Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited a 49-year-old Anchorage man for having No ID markings on his subsistence fishing gear in Homer. Bail is set at $110 in the Homer Court.

Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited a 62-year-old Palmer man for sport fishing in Homer without license in possession. Bail is set at $210 in the Homer Court.

Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited a 55-year-old Florida man for failure to log halibut on his fishing license while out on a charter trip in Homer. Bail is set at $110 in the Homer Court.

June 27

Alaska State Troopers at 1:11 p.m. received a report of an assault which had occurred earlier in the day at a residence off Dorothy Drive. An investigation led to the arrest of a 42-year-old Anchor Point man. He was arrested and remanded into the Homer Jail on charges of third-and fourth-degree assault.

June 28

Alaska State Troopers at 9:04 a.m. responded to a motor vehicle crash with injuries near Mile 158.5 Sterling Highway. An investigation showed a vehicle being driven by a 42-year-old Soldotna man had struck a vehicle being driven by a 40-year-old Georgia man, while the man from Georgia attempted to turn off the road. Passengers in that man’s vehicle were transported by EMS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

June 30

Alaska Wildlife Troopers issued a citation to a 25-year-old Oregon man for fishing in closed waters on the Anchor River. Bail is set at $110 in the Homer Court.

July 1

Alaska Wildlife Troopers issued a citation to a 57-year-old California man for failure to log halibut while on a charter trip in Kachemak Bay. Bail is set at $110 in the Homer Court.
