October 24
A caller at 10:55 a.m. reported a wanted person on Lake Street. An officer went to the scene and arrested a 67-year-old man for failure to appear and took him to the Homer Jail.
An officer at 2:25 p.m. made a traffic stop at Lakeshore Drive and Douglas Place and cited a driver for driving without license or registration. The vehicle was towed.
Officers at 3:01 p.m. assisted medics on Lake Street.
A caller at 9:16 p.m. reported a flare in the area of Bishop’s Beach. An officer and the Alaska State Troopers were notified. An officer responded to the area and was unable to find anyone in distress.
October 25
A caller at 12:44 a.m. reported a suspicious vehicle at Katie Jean Circle and Dons Drive. An officer went to the location and arrested a 31-year-old man for driving under the influence.
Officers at 12:58 p.m. got a tip about a wanted person on Main Street. An officer went to the scene and arrested a 39-year-old man for third-degree theft and violating conditions of release, and took him to the Homer Jail.
Officers at 12:58 p.m. arrested a 26-year-old man on outstanding warrants on Main Street.
A caller at 2:30 p.m. reported what sounded like gunshots on FAA Road. The noises were found to be the result of bird abatement at the Homer Airport, and all was OK.
October 26
A caller at 8:53 a.m. reported a motor vehicle collision involving a parked trailer, with damage, on Lakeside Drive. An officer responded to the scene.
Officers at 9:56 a.m. arrested a 32-year-old man for trespassing at a Homer Bypass address.
A caller at 1:27 p.m. reported a motor vehicle crash with damage on the Sterling Highway. Officers responded to the scene.
A caller at 1:52 p.m. made a Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately (REDDI) report of a driver possibly under the influence on Ben Walters Lane. An officer responded to the area but was unable to locate the driver.
An officer at 2:03 p.m. got a report of a suspicious vehicle on the Sterling Highway. An officer went to the scene.
A caller at 2:37 p.m. reported a raven with a dart in it and unable to fly walking around a parking lot on Ben Walters Lane. The caller reported that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service would not respond. An officer was notified.
A caller at 6:28 p.m. made a REDDI report about a vehicle at East End Road and Kachemak Drive that was outbound toward East End Road. An officer was unable to locate the vehicle.
Officers at 6:59 p.m. got a third party report of an overturned vehicle in a ditch at Baycrest Hill and the Sterling Highway. Specifics were unknown, and an officer responded to the area.
October 27
An officer at 3:05 a.m. made a security check on a public building on Heath Street, contacted a man and advised him to find another place to sleep for the night.
An officer at 12:24 p.m. warned a driver for failing to stop at Crittenden Street and the Sterling Highway.
A caller at 12:56 p.m. reported a raven with an orange blow dart in its side on Hazel Avenue. The caller also reported having seen a moose with an orange blow dart in it on a previous day.
A caller at 1:23 p.m. reported a suspicious vehicle on the road on Alder Lane. An officer went to the area.
A caller at 2:40 p.m. reported a smell of drugs coming from a restroom at West Pioneer Avenue and Bartlett Street. An officer went to the scene.
A caller at 4:55 p.m. reported a shoplifter in a store on Lake Street. An officer went to the store and issued a summons for fourth-degree theft to a 47-year-old woman.
A caller at 8:10 p.m. reported a man dancing in the roadway at Greatland Road and the Sterling Highway. An officer responded to the area but was unable to locate the man.
A caller at 8:33 p.m. reported that the driver of a taxicab was walking a dog on a leash in the middle of the roadway while driving, at Mile 1 Spit Road. An officer went to the area.
A caller at 11:54 p.m. reported excessive noise coming from a neighboring apartment on Ben Walters Lane. An officer responded to the scene.
October 28
An officer at 2:07 a.m. made a check of a public building on Heath Street. Two men were issued a trespass notice to keep them from the building during non-business hours.
A caller at 3:35 a.m. reported a domestic dispute on Poppy Circle. An officer responded to the scene and provided the man involved with transportation to another location.
A caller at 2:29 p.m. reported debris in the roadway at Mile 170 Sterling Highway. An officer went to the location and was unable to locate any debris.
An agency at 8:10 p.m. requested assistance with a call for service at Mile 163 Sterling Highway, for a welfare check on a woman walking on the side of the highway. An officer went to the scene and found all was OK.
An agency at 8:55 p.m. made a REDDI report for motorcycles driving recklessly on Outer Dock Road. An officer went to the scene but was unable to locate them.
A business on East Pioneer Avenue at 10:08 p.m. reported a man refusing to leave. Officers contacted the 24-year-old man and arrested him for criminal trespass.
A business on Ben Walters Lane at 10:27 p.m. reported a suspicious person staring into windows for an extended period of time and causing an altercation with employees.
A caller at 10:38 p.m. reported people with flashlights walking around a residential area at West Hill Road and Seascape Drive. An officer contacted a person, and found they were looking for a lost dog in the area.
October 29
A caller at 6:46 p.m. reported a domestic dispute on Heath Street. Officers responded to the scene and arrested a 24-year-old man for domestic violence-related fourth-degree assault.
An officer at 11:42 p.m. assisted with a domestic dispute on Mattox Road. All was found to be OK and that it was verbal only.
October 30
A caller at 4:30 a.m. reported a vehicle in the ditch at East End Road and Kramer Lane. An officer responded to the scene and arrested a 28-year-old man for driving under the influence. The man was taken to the Homer Jail.
An officer at 1:44 p.m. issued a summons for a 60-year-old man with an expired Alaska drivers license during a traffic stop at mile 170.3 Sterling Highway.
An officer at 8:17 p.m. issued a summons for a 56-year-old man for driving without a valid license at Ocean Drive and FAA Road.
October 31
A security company at 3:37 a.m. reported a business alarm on Heath Street. An officer responded to the business and found all was OK.
Troopers
October 25
Alaska State Troopers at about 9:17 a.m. received a report of a burglary on Chris Circle in Anchor Point. Anchorage Police reported finding an abandoned vehicle near Potters Marsh and when they contacted the owner, of Anchor Point, she reported the vehicle should be at the Chris Circle address. An investigation showed sometime during the night an unknown person had forced open the door to the residence and took the keys to the owner’s vehicle and stole the vehicle. Also during this time a fire was started near a shed causing damage to the shed. The investigation is ongoing.
October 27
Alaska State Troopers at 10:15 a.m. contacted a Kenai man at a location in Anchor Point and arrested him for an outstanding warrant. The man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for violating a DVPO. He was remanded into the Homer Jail with bail set at $250 and third party requirement.

Ben L. Avery, 38, charges dismissed, three counts of fourth-degree assault. Avery pleaded guilty to second-degree harassment. He was fined $1,000 with $500 suspended and sentenced to 10 days in jail with 10 days suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund and a $100 suspended jail surcharge; placed on probation for one year; and ordered to have no contact with his victims.
Nicole R. Cozadd-Pearson, 38, charges dismissed, fourth-degree assault and disorderly conduct. Cozadd-Pearson pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and was sentenced to 20 days in jail with 20 days suspended; fined $1,000 with $1,000 suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund and a $100 suspended jail surcharge; ordered to complete 40 hours of community work survice; and placed on probation for one year.
Emily M. Harmon, 45, pleaded guilty to one count of violating a domestic violence protective order. She was fined $500 with $400 suspended and sentenced to 30 days in jail with 29 days suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund and a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended; and placed on probation for one year.
Janine N. Legaspi, 28, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence. She was fined $2,000 with $500 suspended and sentenced to 30 days in jail or monitoring with 27 days suspended; ordered to pay $75 to support the Police Training Fund, a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended and the $66 cost of imprisonment or monitoring; ordered to attend an alcohol safety action program and install an ignition interlock device; had his driver’s license revoked for 90 days; and was placed on probation for one year.
