Feb. 27
An officer at 2:26 p.m. performed a search warrant service at Bartlett Street address.
Officers at 9:14 p.m. attempted to serve a warrant at a Bay Vista Avenue address, but were unable to locate the subject.
A caller at 11:28 p.m. reported a man causing a disturbance on the Sterling Highway. Officers went to the location and issued the man a disorderly conduct warning.
Feb. 28
A caller at 12:25 p.m. made a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) report on a vehicle on the Sterling Highway. Officers responded to the reported area, contacted two men in the vehicle, and found the report was unfounded.
An agency at 3:04 p.m. requested a welfare check on a suicidal man on Ben Walters Lane. Officers went to the location and found all was OK.
A caller at 5:40 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Mile 168 Sterling Highway. Officers made contact with the driver of the vehicle and noted no impairment.
An agency at 8:05 p.m. requested assistance with roadkill moose at Mile 167 Sterling Highway. An officer responded to the location.
Alaska State Troopers at 9:25 p.m. requested assistance with a disturbance on East End road. Officers responded to the location.
A caller at 10:19 p.m. reported an animal, possibly a dog, hit by a car in the roadway at Mile 167.5 Sterling Highway, with another dog running around it. Officers advised the caller to report the incident to Alaska State Troopers as it was outside of their service area.
A caller at 11:52 p.m. reported a person in a store on the Homer Bypass needed to be given a trespassing advisement. An officer responded to the scene and issued the advisement.
March 1
An officer at 2:38 a.m. checked and locked public restrooms at Bartlett Street and Pioneer Avenue, and found a man there. The officer advised the man to move along.
A caller at 10:21 a.m. reported an aggressive family member on East End Road. An officer responded to the scene.
An officer at 1:43 p.m. contacted a vehicle with expired registration on Kachemak Drive and gave the driver a warning.
A business at 3:56 p.m. reported a shoplifter in custody on Lake Street. An officer issued a summons to the 32-year-old woman and issued her a trespass notice.
A business on the Homer Bypass at 5:32 p.m. reported a shoplifter. An officer responded to the location.
March 2
An agency at 2:06 p.m. requested that Homer Police pick up a subject on Ben Walters Lane. Officers went to the scene and transported the subject.
Officer at 6:22 a.m. attempted to locate a wanted person on Ben Walters Lane but were unable to find them.
A caller at 11:49 a.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Mile 163 Sterling Highway. Officers responded to the area but were unable to locate the driver.
A caller at 3:19 p.m. reported juveniles throwing objects at vehicles at Main Street and Cityview Avenue. An officer responded to the location.
An officer at 7:52 p.m. contacted a 19-year-old woman driving without a valid license at Pioneer Avenue and Main Street. The officer issued the woman a summons for driving in violation of an instructional permit.
A caller at 8:56 p.m. reported an intoxicated man staggering in the roadway at Pioneer Avenue and Bartlett Street. Officers responded to the scene and advised the man to stay out of the road. The man was issued a disorderly conduct warning.
March 3
A caller at 5:26 p.m. reported a vehicle trespassing on state property in the area of Beluga Lake and reported someone was cutting firewood. An officer and the responsible agency were advised.
A caller at 7:58 p.m. reported a disturbance inside the lobby of a local hotel on the Sterling Highway. Officers went to the scene and gave a warning for disorderly conduct to a person there.
A caller at 9:53 p.m. reported a motor vehicle crash with injuries at Snowbird Street and the Homer Bypass. Officers responded to the scene along with medics and charged a 38-year-old man with driving under the influence.
March 4
A caller at 10:25 a.m. reported a suspicious man looking in windows of a home that is under construction on Kachemak Drive. The man was observed leaving the scene before an officer arrived. Once there, the office was unable to locate anything suspicious.
A caller at 2:25 p.m. reported someone trespassing and cutting firewood on private property at Bay Vista Place and the Sterling Highway. An officer responded to the scene and issued a trespass notice to both involved parties.
A caller at 7:09 p.m. reported shoplifting after the fact at a business on Greatland Street. An officer responded to the location.
A caller at 9:49 p.m. reported ongoing noise all day long on Soundview Avenue. An officer responded to the area.
A caller at 11:20 p.m. made a REDDI report on an intoxicated man possibly driving on the Homer Bypass. An officer contacted the driver and found no evidence of impairment.
A caller at 11:34 p.m. reported hearing a strange noise from a dumpster on East Pioneer Avenue. An officer responded to the scene, and heard nothing suspicious.
March 5
An officer at 8:58 a.m. warned a driver for speeding in a school zone on the Sterling Highway.
A caller at 9:18 a.m. reported a person trespassing in restrooms at Heath Street and Pioneer Avenue. An officer responded to the area.
An officer at 12:32 p.m. impounded a vehicle at Pioneer Avenue and Main Street.
A security company at 1:02 p.m. reported a commercial alarm on Landings Street. Officers responded to the scene and found it was a false alarm.
A caller at 7:49 p.m. reported shoplifting on the Homer Bypass. An officer went to the scene.
A caller at 8:29 p.m. reported a vehicle with young children in it that wasn’t being supervised by an adult on East Pioneer Avenue. An officer responded to the scene.
Troopers
Feb. 27
Alaska State Troopers at approximately 8:40 p.m. received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked near a residence. Troopers responded and contacted a 24-year-old Nikolaevsk man. Investigation revealed he was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs. The man had an active arrest warrant and was also in possession of psilocybin mushrooms. He was arrested and transported to the Anchor Point Trooper Post for a breath sample; after which he was remanded to Homer Jail.
March 4
Alaska State Troopers at 9:17 a.m. responded to an address on Skyline Drive in Homer for a report of a male threatening to burn the house down and to burn an occupant of the house. An investigation led to the arrest of a 73-year-old Homer man for assault and resisting arrest. The man was remanded into the Homer Jail.
