May 14
Firefighters at 1:17 p.m. responded to Anchor Point for a mutual aid request for a tanker and crew to assist with a wildland fire.
Firefighters at 10:44 p.m. went to the Spit for a 20-foot-by-20-foot pile of log and wood debris that had been set on fire by several people in area. Homer Police also responded and put out the fire.

May 9
A caller at 11 a.m. reported a weapon stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
A caller at 4:21 p.m. reported people camping on private property at a Sterling Highway address.
A caller at 4:28 p.m. reported a person with a loose dog chasing shorebirds in Mud Bay on the Spit.
Several people at 5:23 p.m. made 911 calls expressing concern for a man on the Lake Street bike path. Police responded and transported the man to South Peninsula Hospital.
A caller at 11:53 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a man lying in the parking lot of an East End Road business. Police contacted the man and told him to stay out of roadways.
May 10
Police at 3:07 a.m. contacted a 24-year-old woman driving on Main Street and issued her a summons for not having an ignition interlock device. The woman parked the car for the night.
A caller at 5:25 a.m. reported water coming out of an unoccupied home on Landings Street.
A caller at 10:48 a.m. reported a driver in a vehicle speeding and spinning gravel at Bishop’s Beach. Police responded.
A person at 6:20 p.m. came to the station to report an ongoing harassment issue. Police spoke to the person.
A man at 6:27 p.m. came to the station to report vandalism to his vehicle while it was on the Spit.
A person at 8:52 p.m. made a 911 call with an open line. Police heard normal sounds of family life in the background.
May 11
A caller at 3:28 p.m. reported a stalking incident for documentation.
A caller at 6:10 p.m. reported an issue with a juvenile being disruptive, cursing and refusing to leave a Hazel Street address.
A caller at 7:26 p.m. reported seeing something suspicious at a Bayview Avenue address.
May 12
A caller at 9:30 a.m. reported violation of camping rules on the Spit and aggresive behavior.
A caller at 10:15 a.m. asked for help in retrieving stolen merchandise and also provided information on a wanted subject. Police passed the information on to the Alaska State Troopers. A 30-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
A caller at 12:59 p.m. reported a disturbance at a Fairview Avenue address. Police contacted a man and issued him a trespass notice.
A caller at 5:46 p.m. reported a theft from a Sterling Highway address.
A caller at 7:08 p.m. reported a theft from a Grubstake Avenue address.
A caller at 8:30 p.m. reported a vehicle with a back window broken out at a Freight Dock Road address.
May 13
Police at 12:29 p.m. contacted a person driving on the Spit and issued a citation for driving while license suspended or revoked.
Police at 3:42 p.m. issued a summons for shoplifting to a 31-year-old man and also gave him a trespass notice from a Lake Street store.
A person at 10:23 p.m. made a 911 call that a child had been physically assaulted at a Bay Avenue address. Police responded.
May 14
Police at 12:35 a.m. made a traffic stop on a driver on the Sterling Highway. Police said the vehicle had stolen plates. Police arrested a 25-year-old woman for improper use of registration, driving without a license and driving without insurance.
Police at 11:30 a.m. contacted a driver on Ocean Drive and issued a violation notice for driving while license suspended.
Police at 1:37 p.m. contacted a 52-year-old man driving on the Sterling Highway near Heath Street and issued him a summons for driving without a license.
A caller at 7:56 p.m. reported a man fell on the sidewalk along Lake Street. Police responded and provided the man transportation home.
A caller at 10:45 p.m. reported a large fire and a drunk man being unsafe in the area on Freight Dock Road. Police responded and arrested a 45-year-old man for disorderly conduct.
A person at 11:07 p.m. made a 911 call of a domestic dispute at a Main Street apartment complex. Police responded and arrested 46-year-old man for disorderl conduct.
Troopers
May 10
Alaska State Troopers at 11:44 a.m. received a report from an Anchor Point business that a window in a company vehicle had been shot out. Troopers determined that sometime during the weekend of May 5-7 someone shot at the vehicle. Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to contact the Alaska State Troopers at 907-262-4453.
May 11
Troopers at 9:30 a.m. received a report of a burglary at a Tall Tree Avenue home in Anchor Point. Troopers said that sometime during the previous months someone broke into the home and took items. An investigation is ongoing.

Clinton A. Bush, 42, charge dismissed, third-degree theft. He pleaded guilty to another charge of third degree theft. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 30 days suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund, a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended; ordered to pay restitution; and was placed on probation for one year.
Seth R. Bergman, 38, charge dismissed, fourth-degree assault. He pleaded guilty to fifth-degree criminal mischief. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 30 days suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund and a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended; ordered to pay $10 in restitution for ripping a Homer Jail sheet; and was placed on probation for one year.
Jared A. Hemphill, 32, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence. He was fined $5,000 with $1,000 suspended; sentenced to 270 days in jail with 210 days suspended, with jail and fine credit for residential treatment stay and costs; ordered to pay $75 to support the Police Training Fund and a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended; had the cost of imprisonment waived; ordered to attend an alcohol safety action program and install an ignition interlock device; had his driver’s license revoked for three years; and was placed on probation for two years.
Elisa A. Russ, 49, pleaded no contest to fourth-degree theft. She was ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund; ordered to pay restitution and to perform 10 hours of community work service.
