Nov. 26
Firefighters at 12:05 p.m. went to a fire alarm at South Peninsula Hospital. Upon arrival hospital maintenance crew took firefighters to an elevator mechanical room where black smoke was visible. Firefighters put out the fire. No evacuation was needed. The cause remains under investigation.

Nov. 19
Police at 9:20 p.m. did a welfare check at a Mt. Augustine Drive address for a man reported missing. Police found a man and his wife at the home.
Nov. 20
A man at 2:19 a.m. made a 911 call asking that a woman be removed from his Fairview Avenue home. Police responded and cited the woman for violating conditions of release.
A caller at 1:25 p.m. reported being concerned about a family member at a Highland Drive address. Police responded and arrested an 18-year-old man for fourth-degree assault.
A caller at 2:33 p.m. reported drug activity at a Sterling Highway address. Police responded and contacted suspects.
Several callers at 8:28 p.m. reported hearing gunshots in the West Hill Road and Eagle View Drive area. Police responded but could not find the source of the noise.
A person at 10:50 p.m. made a 911 call to Soldotna dispatch but the call was dropped before connecting with HPD dispatch. HPD dispatchers made contact with a woman and got an address. Police responded and arrested a 36-year-old man for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.
A caller at 11:27 p.m. reported a bicycle behind a Ben Walters Lane business. Police recovered the bicycle and put it in lost-and-found.
A caller at 11:47 p.m. asked for extra patrols because of suspicious individuals in the Ben Walters Lane area.

A caller at at 1:59 a.m. reported a man walking and staggering down the middle of East End Road. Police responded but did not detect any impairment in the man. Police advised him to stay out of the middle of the road.
A caller at 3:05 a.m. reported a friend was missing from the Spit.
A man at 9:12 a.m. made a 911 call reporting the theft of power tools from his East End Road yard. He said possible suspects had left the area.
A man at 12:24 p.m. turned in found identification and a phone.
Police at 1:41 p.m. assisted the fire department at a Jennifer Place address.
A caller at 3:04 p.m. reported a theft from a Fairview Avenue address.
A caller at 5:44 p.m. reported a domestic dispute in progress at an Ocean Drive Loop address. Police responded.
A caller at 7:22 p.m. reported ongoing parking issues at a Sterling Highway address.

A caller at 12:11 a.m. reported someone with a flashlight on her Mission Avenue property.
A caller at 1:22 a.m. asked for medics to respond to a Main Street address but could not provide much information. The caller was suspected to be drunk.
A caller at 11:15 a.m. asked for police to issue an indefinite trespass notice to a man from a Bunnell Avenue address. Police issued the trespass notice.
A caller at 12:12 p.m. reported a shoplifter at a Lake Street business. Police responded and issued a summons to a 23-year-old woman for third-degree theft and second-degree trespassing.
A man at 3:39 p.m. reported lost property.
A man at 4:55 p.m. reported finding property.
A person at 7:57 p.m. made a 911 call reporting verbal threats at a Klondike Avenue address. Police responded.

A caller at 12:09 a.m. reported a man parked a car on Klondike Avenue and walked to a suspicious house across the road. Police responded.
A caller at 3:07 a.m. reported hearing a noise on the porch of a Jennifer Place home. The caller said nothing could be seen and someone might be fooling with them. Police responded and did not find anything suspicious.
Police at 9:40 a.m. had a vehicle impounded from a Ben Walters Lane address after it had been abandoned for 30 days.
A caller at 10:35 a.m. reported a theft from an Ocean Drive Loop address.
A caller at 10:18 a.m. reported a woman acted belligerently at an FAA Road business. Police responded and a business manager asked police to issue the woman a six-month trespass notice.
A caller at 11:10 a.m. reported losing a suitcase out of the back of a vehicle.
Police at 1:22 p.m. assisted medics at a West Hill Road address.
A caller at 6 p.m. reported a car crash near Mile 1 East End Road. Police responded and arrested an 88-year-old man for third-degree assault and driving under the influence.
A caller at 6:19 p.m. reported a driver in a car swerving on West Hill Road. Police stopped the car but did not find any impairment with the driver.
A caller at 9:27 p.m. reported a stranger knocking on the door of her Pennock Street home after she heard her dog barking outside. The woman said she was concerned about opening the door.
A caller at 10:02 p.m. asked for help in getting his belongings back from his fiance.

A person at 1:25 p.m. made a 911 call of a vehicle in the ditch on Klondike Avenue. Police responded.
Police at 5:43 p.m. stopped a driver on the Sterling Highway and issued a citation for driving while license revoked.
A caller at 7:23 p.m. reported a disturbance at a Sabrina Road home. Police responded.
A caller at 11:15 p.m. reported his or her spouse was overdue from a trip. The caller later called back to report the spouse was on his or her way home.
A caller at 11:41 p.m. reported possible animal neglect. Police forwarded the issue to the animal control officer.

A person at 2 p.m. turned in a backpack found on Greatland Street.
Nov. 26
A caller at 12:01 a.m. reported a possible juvenile party with adults present at a West Hill Road address.
Police at 5:51 p.m. went to a Klondike Avenue home and served a protective order on a woman. Police took the woman into protective custody.

A caller at 5:38 p.m. reported harassment over the Internet.
A caller at 6:04 p.m. reported an unoccupied vehicle in the ditch on Main Street. Police responded.
A caller at 8:15 p.m. reported a suspect in an unreported prior theft was at a Pioneer Avenue business. The caller did not know what had been taken.
Nov. 28
A caller at 5:46 a.m. reported a man lying by the side of the road on Main Street. Police contacted the man and found he was OK.
Troopers
Nov. 18
Alaska State Troopers at 10:49 p.m. went to a car crash near Mile 157.5 Sterling Highway in Anchor Point. Troopers said a 55-year-old Anchor Point man driving a white Subaru Outback lost control and rolled the car. The man escaped injury. Troopers arrested him for felony driving under the influence and said he had two prior DUI convictions in the previous 10 years.
Nov. 19
Troopers at 8:18 p.m. contacted a 27-year-old Homer man while checking on a suspicious vehicle. Troopers arrested the man on an outstanding warrant.

Jamelle T. Brown, 30, charge dismissed, fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance.
Frances X.V. Moesh, 26, Ninilchik, charges dismissed, fourth-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal mischief. He pleaded guilty to another charge of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. He was fined $1,000 with $1,000 suspended and sentenced to 90 days in jail with 80 days suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund and a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended; ordered to obtain a mental health evaluation; and was placed on probation for three years. He also pleaded guilty to failure to stop at the direction of a peace officer and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 20 days suspended.
Charles Edwards, 36, Denali National Park, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence. He was fined $4,000 with $1.000 suspended and sentenced to 30 days in jail with 10 days suspended; ordered to pay $75 to support the Police Training Fund, a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended and the $1,467 cost of imprisonment; ordered to attend an alcohol safety action program and install an ignition interlock device; had his driver’s license revoked for one year; and was placed on probation for two years.
David Kratsas, 52, Anchor Point, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence.
