Homer Volunteer Fire Department

Week of Jan. 23 – Jan. 29

Homer Volunteer Fire Department responded to three advance life support emergencies and seven basic life support emergencies, for a total of 10 emergency medical services related tone outs.

Western Emergency Services responded to seven medical calls and three fire calls the week of Jan. 23 through Jan. 29.

Homer Police Department

Jan. 24

At 10:56 a.m., Homer police responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision at Homer High School. No injuries were reported.

At 11:14 p.m., when Homer police conducted a routine traffic stop, a 38-year-old Homer resident was issued a summons for driving while license suspended.

Jan. 25

At 11:40 a.m., Homer police responded to a theft at UPS. As a result, a 33-year-old Homer resident was arrested for fourth-degree theft and four outstanding $500 Soldotna Alaska State Troopers misdemeanor warrants for failure to appear.

At 8:26 p.m., Homer police responded to the area of a potentially dangerous driver. As a result, a 36-year-old Homer resident was arrested for driving under the influence and taken to Homer Jail.

Jan. 27

At about 2:10 a.m., Homer police assisted Alaska State Troopers with a disturbance on China Poot Street.

At 1:48 p.m., Homer police responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident at West Hill Road and Hillside Place. No injuries were reported.

At 11:46 p.m., Homer police conducted a traffic stop on East End Road. A 70-year-old Homer resident was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

Jan. 28

At 2:43 a.m., an officer on patrol observed a vehicle in the ditch with two males inside. A 29-year-old Colorado resident was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

At 4:27 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop. A 53-year-old Anchor Point resident was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

At 4:14 p.m., Homer police responded to the report of a disturbance on NoView Avenue.

Jan. 29

At about 2:40 p.m., Homer police responded to the report of a burglar alarm at a local business.

At about 5:40 p.m., Homer police responded to the report of a disturbance on Lake Street.

At 7:48 p.m., Homer police responded to a report of custodial interference.

At 10:34 p.m., multiple callers reported a single-vehicle collision with a light pole. Homer police and Homer Volunteer Fire Department responded to scene. One patient was taken to South Peninsula Hospital. A 39-year-old Homer resident was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, violating conditions of release, and on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for a Pretrial Conference Hearing on an original charge of driving under the influence.

Jan. 30

At 12:30 p.m., Homer police received a report of a disturbance on Ben Walters Lane.

At 1:46 p.m., Homer police responded to Ulmer’s Drug and Hardware for a report of a shoplifter.

Alaska State Troopers

Jan. 24

At 7:51 p.m., Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point conducted a motorist assist near Resch Avenue and the Sterling Highway. Investigation determined that the driver, a 26-year-old Anchor Point resident, had two outstanding arrest warrants totaling $3,000 for third-degree theft and violating conditions of release. Additionally, she was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and was on conditions of release. She was arrested and taken to the Homer Jail and held pending arraignment for the arrest warrants and the new charges of fifth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and violating conditions of release.

Jan. 26

At 4:16 p.m., Alaska State Troopers stopped a vehicle on the Sterling Highway at Stariski Ridge Road for speeding. After investigation, a 31-year-old Anchor Point resident was given a summons to appear in court for driving while license suspended and released.

Jan. 28

At 12:21 a.m., Alaska State Troopers received a 911 hang-up from a residence near Homer. Troopers responded and contacted a 61-year-old Homer resident., who, when investigation determined was on conditions of release for a felony assault and was not to consume alcohol or possess deadly weapons, was arrested for two counts of violating conditions of release and was taken to Homer Jail without bail, pending arraignment.

At 10:35 p.m., Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point contacted a 51-year-pld

Anchor Point resident at the Anchor Point Transfer Site. After investigation, determined incorrect license plates were on his vehicle, a misdemeanor summons for misuse of plates was issued into the Homer Court.

Baron James Jackson Savok, 36, driving under the influence; avoidance of interlock – circumvent/tamper; and driving while license canceled/revoked/suspended for criminal offense, Homer case.

James Robert Bender, 29, driving under the influence, Homer case.

Sugayle Marie Hillstrand, 53, driving under the influence, Homer case.

Jack Ralph Niemi, driving under the influence, Homer case.

Dawson Matthew Stone, 51, improper use of registration/title/plates, Anchor Point case.

Gabriella Elizabeth Delligatti, 39, driving under the influence; and violating conditions of release for a misdemeanor, Homer case.
