Firefighters at 9:57 a.m. went to a propane tank fire on Hunter Street. They isolated the tank and shut off the valve.

Homer Police
March 24
Police at 8:06 a.m. contacted a person driving on Heath Street and issued a citation for driving while license revoked.
A caller at 10:08 a.m. reported hearing what sounded like a gun shot in the Bonanza Avenue area. Police responded but could not find the source of the sound.
A caller at 2:03 p.m. reported a shoplifter at a Lake Street address. Police responded.
A man at 6:33 p.m. made a 911 call of unknown people inside his Pioneer Avenue home. Police responded and arrested a 20-year-old man on a warrant and issued trespass notices to a man and woman.
March 25
A caller at 3:05 a.m. reported suspicious people entering and leaving a Rochelle Road home. Police responded and found all was OK. The people were guests of the homeowner.
A caller at 10:24 a.m. reported damage done to his boat while it was dry docked on Kachemak Drive.
A caller at 5:49 p.m. reported a yearling moose with a trash can lid stuck around its head at a Sterling Highway address. Police notified the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
March 26
Police at 3:12 a.m. did a security check on a East End Road business with an unsecured front door and a vehicle with its engine running parked outside. All was OK.
A caller at 9:46 a.m. reported a theft from a boat on Ocean Drive Loop.
A caller at 10:01 a.m. reported property vandalized at a Mark White Avenue address.
Police at 11:21 a.m. arrested a 29-year-old man on an outstanding warrant on the Spit.
A caller at 2:50 p.m. reported a theft from and damage to a vehicle on Fireweed Avenue.
March 27
A caller at 2:15 p.m. reported a domestic dispute at Bishop’s Beach.
A caller at 1:20 p.m. reported damage to a light and a sign on Main Street.
A caller at 3:01 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a child at a Grubstake Avenue address.
A caller at 5:07 p.m. reported a small child with no guardian nearby by at a Sterling Highway address. Police responded but could not find the child.
A person at 8:15 p.m. made a 911 call asking for assistance in finding shelter. Police transported the person to a facility.
A caller at 8:18 p.m. reported being locked inside a City View Avenue home. Police responded.
March 28
Police at 1:05 p.m. attempted to serve a warrant on a person at a Hohe Street address. A resident said the subject no longer lived there.
A caller at 1:15 p.m. reported a person in the back parking area of a Heath Street address selling items. Police responded.
A caller at 1:27 p.m. reported she had items stolen from her luggage at the airport.
A caller at 9:41 p.m. reported suspicious activity at a closed business on Pioneer Avenue. Police responded and found all was OK.
March 29
A caller at 6:10 a.m. reported an expected death at home at a Herndon Street address. Police responded.
Police at 4:05 a.m. checked on a patient in protective custody at a Bartlett Street address.
A caller at 10:17 a.m. reported a person not in compliance with a sexual offender registry.
A caller at 1:32 p.m. reported a patient was out of control and tried to leave a Bartlett Street facility. Police responded and took the patient into protective custody.
A caller at 4:29 p.m. reported medications had been stolen from a Beluga Circle address.
A caller at 11:34 p.m. reported suspicious people loitering near a Herndon Drive business. Police responded and arrested a 30-year-old man on a probation violation and a 22-year-old woman for assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
March 30
A caller at 2:52 a.m. reported hearing arguing in the Klondike Avenue area. Police responded but could not find the subjects.
Police at 3:01 a.m. noticed an open door at a Pioneer Avenue business. Police cleared the building and secured the door. All was OK.
A person at 12:38 p.m. made a 911 call of a vehicle in the ditch with no injuries on Highland Drive. Police responded.
A caller at 12:37 p.m. reported a person destroyed merchandise and threatened an employee at a Greatland Street business.
A caller at 5 p.m. reported a domestic violence incident after the fact.
A caller at 5:45 p.m. reported a man riding an ATV on Spruceview Avenue.
Troopers
March 7
Alaska State Troopers at 12:38 p.m. received a report of fuel being stolen from a vehicle overnight. An investigation showed someone has siphoned fuel from a vehicle parked at the Ninilchik School sometime during the previous night. The investigation is ongoing.
March 12
Troopers at 5:42 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 51-year-old Homer man driving on East End Road. Troopers arrested the man for driving under the influence.
March 20
Troopers at 8:30 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 54-year-old Anchor Point woman near Mile 1 North Fork Road. Troopers arrested her for DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
March 24
Troopers at 11:41 a.m. received a report that two cabins and a shed in Ninilchik had been broken into. The owner said items had been taken while he had been out of state for the winter. The investigation is ongoing.
Troopers at 3:28 p.m. received a report of two motor homes having been broken into and items stolen at an address in Ninilchik. Items taken included computer equipment and propane tanks. The investigation is ongoing.
March 27
Troopers went to a single vehicle rollover near Mile 2 Old Sterling Highway. Troopers said a 19-year-old Homer man driving west in a silver Subaru lost control of his vehicle in the slush, causing the vehicle to spin around and flip, coming to rest on the roof of the vehicle. There were injuries to a passenger but she refused transportation by Anchor Point Emergency Medical Services. All involved wore their seat belts.
Troopers at 1:44 p.m. went to Greer Road and East End Road for a collision. Troopers said a 52-year-old Homer man turned left in front of an oncoming vehicle, causing a collision that severely damaged both vehicles and sent three people to the hospital with injuries. Troopers arrested the 52-year-old man for DUI, and two counts of second-degree assault, and one count of third-degree assault, all felonies.
Troopers at 9:17 p.m. went to a Homer home for a disturbance. Troopers said a 25-year-old man caused pain to a family member and would not allow that person to call 911. Troopers arrested him for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, and interfering with a report of a domestic violence crime.
