Homer Police
April 26
Homer Police at received a report from South Peninsula Hospital security that a man was trespassing. Police arrested a 63-year-old Fairbanks man for second-degree criminal trespassing and resisting arrest. He was taken to the Homer Jail.
May 1
Police at 12:30 p.m. arrested a 21-year-old California man on a warrant for failure to contact Wildwood Pretrial facility to schedule remand.
Police at 2:54 p.m. received a report of property damage while the owner was out of town.
May 2
Police at 2:23 p.m. received a report of a hit-and-run vehicle collision in a parking lot. The caller witnessed the accident and gave a detailed description of the suspect vehicle. Officers made a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle and as a result arrested a 34-year-old Homer man for driving under the influence, refusal to take a breath test, leaving the scene of an accident and violating conditions of release. He was taken to the Homer Jail.
Alaska State Troopers
April 25
Alaska State Troopers at 6:46 p.m. were notified of a vehicle theft from a garage in Sterling. Investigation revealed an unknown person drove up in a silver Sonata, went up to the front door while wearing a mask, a bandana and glasses which covered their face then knocked on the door. The person looked through the windows, walked around the house looking through windows and then entered the attached garage where he stole a white 2000 Chevrolet pickup bearing Alaska plates GSS-713 and then fled the scene. Troopers identified a 43-year-old Homer man as a suspect in the theft. Following a continuous investigative effort and several citizen tips, troopers on April 30 located the suspect. He was arrested for previous warrants and for first degree burglary and first degree vehicle theft. The stolen vehicle is still missing. April 27
Alaska State Troopers at 8:16 p.m. received a 911 call of an assault which had occurred on Orthodox Avenue in Ninilchik. An investigation showed that a 36-year-old Ninilchik woman had assaulted a family member during an argument. She was arrested and remanded into the Homer Jail pending arraignment.
May 1
Troopers at 3:20 p.m. in Anchor Point made a traffic stop for a seatbelt violation. Investigation determined the driver, a 41-year-old Anchorage man, failed to transfer the title of his vehicle for more than two years. He was issued a misdemeanor summons in the Homer Court for new owner failure to transfer title.
May 2
Troopers at 10:29 p.m. made a traffic stop for an equipment violation near Mile 7 East End Road in Homer. Investigation determined the driver, a 43-year-old Homer man, had a $10,000 felony arrest warrant for the original charge of felony DUI and violating conditions of release. He was arrested for his warrant and received new charges of violating conditions of release and driving while license revoked He was taken to the Homer Jail.
