Homer Police
Aug. 29
Homer Police contacted a 40-year-old Soldotna man at 10:28 p.m. and arrested him on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant from Alaska State Troopers in Dillingham for violating a domestic violence protective order. He was remanded to the Homer Jail.
Sept. 1
Homer Police arrested a 37-year-old Homer man as a fugitive from justice for a Wisconsin felony warrant for failure to appear in court on an original charge of driving under the influence. He was remanded to the Homer Jail.
Troopers
Aug. 25
At 11:05 a.m., Alaska State Troopers received a report of harassing voicemails being received by a female. An investigation showed that a 49-year-old Anchor Point man had left threatening voicemails on the female’s phone in the middle of June. The man was contacted and admitted to leaving the messages. He was given a summons to appear for second-degree harassment.
Aug. 26
At about 9:50 a.m., Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point received information on the location on a 29-year-old Anchor Point woman who had warrants for her arrest. Troopers responded to a local business in Anchor Point and contacted the woman. She was taken into custody and remanded into the Homer Jail on her warrants. There were a total of three warrants with a total bail of $1,250.
Aug. 27
At about 5:30 p.m., the Alaska State Troopers received a stolen vehicle report from Homer Police Department that was last seen driving northbound on the Sterling Highway leaving Homer. At about 6 p.m., troopers observed a maroon truck matching the description of the stolen vehicle near Mile 145. Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle but the vehicle failed to stop. Troopers pursued the vehicle until it crashed near Mile 116 Sterling Highway. The driver attempted to flee the scene but was detained. Subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of a 34-year-old Anchorage man for one count of failure to stop at the direction of a peace officer, two counts of first-degree vehicle theft, one count of third-degree assault and one count of driving while license suspended. The man was transported to the Wildwood Pre-Trial Facility for remand.
Aug. 28
At 6:55 p.m., Alaska State Troopers stopped a vehicle for speeding on East End Road near Hancock Drive. An investigation showed the driver, a 35-year-old Homer woman, was driving with a suspended license. Further investigation showed she was on conditions of release in a prior criminal case. The woman was given a summons to appear and released.
