Lifelong Port Graham resident, Mr. Benjamin Meganack Sr., 79, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, at South Peninsula Hospital Long Term Care in Homer.
Funeral Services were held in Port Graham at Saint Sergius & Herman Russian Orthodox Church. He was buried following services at the St. Herman’s Orthodox Cemetery in Port Graham.
Benjamin was born Aug. 20, 1940, in Port Graham, Alaska. He completed high school at Mt. Edgecumbe High School. Benjamin was a commercial fisherman for many years, and was a proud subsistence hunter and carpenter who lived in Port Graham all his life. He loved playing and watching basketball.
He is survived by his daughters, Delores Tutor of Seattle, Washington and Rachel Meganack of Anchorage; sons, Ben Meganack, Jr. of Port Graham and Ivan Meganack of Homer; step-sons, Billy Meganack of Port Graham and Basil Meganack of Port Graham; grandchildren, Trenton Tutor of Anchorage, Dwayne Meganack of Nikiski, Travis Tutor of Utah and Cameron Hoover of Anchorage; and six great-grandchildren.
