April is Jubilee month, the annual celebration of young Homer artists sponsored by the Homer Council on the Arts. Upcoming events and deadlines are:

• March 31: Application deadline for Youth Summer Fine Arts Scholarships for students currently in grades 6-11. Scholarship recipients will be announced on April 25 at the Jubilee Performing Arts Show.

• April 4: Jubilee Visual Art Show exhibit opening, for students in grades K-12. Student work is due March 28.

• April 4: Poetry Slam and Rave, for high schools students after the Jubilee art exhibit opening.

• April 25: Jubilee Performing Arts Show, Mariner Theatre, for students in grades K-12. Applications are due April 14; auditions are April 16.
