In Waimanalo, Oahu, Hawaii, on April 19, 2013, Marc Bucho, age 42, went home to be with the Lord.
The circumstances of his death are still under investigation.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Nikiski New Hope Christian Fellowship, Coringa Avenue, Mile 23 Kenai Spur Highway, Nikiski, and officiated by Pastor Henry Haney. A celebration of Marc’s life was held following the service at the residence of Jason and Amy Bucho.
Marc was born Jan. 27, 1971, in Silverton, Idaho, and was raised in Northern Idaho.
In the summer of 1983 the family moved to Homer, where Marc attended school.
For a number of years Marc was a fisherman in Homer.
Marc moved to Kennewick, Wash., where he met and fell in love with Emily.
They were married Nov. 22, 1994, in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, with friends and family in attendance.
On Nov. 1, 1996, Marc and Emily welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Raphaella, into the world. Raphaella was the love of Marc’s life; he was so proud of her and still wants the very best for her.
Marc worked in construction for a number of years while in Washington. Late in 2006 Marc moved to Hawaii, where he continued construction work. For the last several years Marc lived with the family of Patrick and Loretta in Waimanalo, where he helped them and they helped him. Marc battled a severe illness for the last couple of years, and was hoping and praying for complete restoration.
Marc’s dream was to work and minister to the homeless, alcoholics and drug addicts. He so looked forward to complete recovery in his own life.
“Marc was a protector and giver to all,” his family said. “He had his struggles and he loved the Lord. Nothing can ‘separate us from the love of God’ that is in Christ Jesus our Lord’ (Romans 8:39 (NIV).”
He was dearly loved by his family and will truly be missed.
Marc is survived by his daughter, Raphaella, and her mother, Emily. He is also survived by his mother, Mary, and husband Rob Ellis; brother, Jason Bucho and family of Kenai; his sister, Michele Bucho of Anchorage; his father, Tim Bucho of Kennewick, Wash.; grandparents, Julie and Albert Bucho, of Smelterville, Idaho; grandmother, Lois Parsons, of Oklahoma; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Marc was preceded in death by his grandpa, Wayne McPeak of Pinehurst, Idaho.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Men’s Friendship Mission- Homeless Shelter, P.O. Box 2634, Kenai, AK 99611. An offering was taken at Marc’s service as per his daughter, Raphaella’s, request for donations to the Friendship Mission as well.
