State Trooper Reports

Sept. 30

Alaska State Troopers at 12:28 p.m. went to Nikolaevsk for a report of vandalism. Troopers said someone slashed` tires and broke windows on a 1999 GMC Sierra causing $1,800 in damages.

Oct. 2

Troopers at 7 p.m. went to a Rachel Road home in Ninilchik for the death of an 81-year-old man. Troopers said the man died of natural causes and no foul play was suspected. Troopers notified next of kin and released the body to a funeral home.

Oct. 4

Troopers at 9:20 a.m. went to an Anchor Point home for the death of a 67-year-old woman. Troopers said they suspected the woman died of natural causes. Next of kin was present. No foul play was suspected. Troopers notified the State Medical Examiner and a funeral home took possession of the body pending a release by the medical examiner. 

Bureau of Highway Patrol Troopers at 4:52 p.m. stopped the driver of a 1991 Buick near Mile 109 Sterling Highway and identified him as a 35-year-old Ninilchik man. Troopers said the man was on probation with conditions allowing him or his car to be searched at the request of his probation officer. The probation officer asked for a search and troopers said they found controlled substances. Troopers arrested the man for fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and took him to Wildwood Pretrial in Kenai.
