Registration ends June 6 for writers conference
Registration for the Kachemak Bay Writers Conference closes June 6.
The conference is held June 8 to 12 at Land’s End Resort is presented by the Kachemak Bay Campus of Kenai Peninsula College-University of Alaska Anchorage.
The conference’s general registration fee is $425 and includes opening dinner, four lunches, receptions and workshops.
This year’s keynote speaker is Anthony Doerr, author of the Pulitzer Prize winning novel, “All the Light We Cannot See.”
The conference features 16 award-winning, nationally recognized authors, editors and agents who will conduct creative writing workshops, readings, craft talks and panel presentations in creative fiction, nonfiction, poetry and the business of writing.
Other national and Alaskan writers are Jean Anderson, Rick Barot, Richard Chiappone, Bryan Allen Fierro, Diane Glancy, Ernestine Hayes, Jean Hegland, Erin Coughlin Hollowell, Barbara Hurd, Kevin Larimer, Nancy Lord, Peggy Shumaker, Floyd Skloot, Joe Wilkins and Sally Wofford-Girand.
Optional activities include manuscript reviews, editor-agent consultations, receptions, a boat cruise and open mic.
Evening readings on June 9- 11 by visiting writers will be open to the public at no charge.
