March 4
A woman at 8:44 a.m. reported she hit a tow chain across East End Road while a tow truck pulled a car out of the ditch. No one was injured. Police issued the woman a police accident report form.
A woman at 10 a.m. reported losing a hanging fish scale near the Cottonwood Horse Park on East End Road.
A caller at 11:37 a.m. reported a driver in a green truck speeding and driving recklessly out of the Land’s End Resort parking lot on the Spit.
A man at 2:15 p.m. reported he was the victim of a credit card fraud.
A woman at 2:20 p.m. reported a hit-and-run collision at the South Peninsula Hospital parking lot.
A woman at 3:55 p.m. asked for police assistance on how to issue a trespass notice to a person from her property.
A man at 5:15 p.m. reported many cars were stopped on West Hill Road as people looked at a great gray owl.
A man at 6:10 p.m. reported an older person stood for a long time outside a Sterling Highway store. Police responded but could not find the elder.
A woman at 7:21 p.m. reported her husband threatened to remove her belongings from a Milo Fritz Road home in Anchor Point. Police advised the woman of her options but told her she was outside the police response area.
March 5
A caller at 9:15 a.m. asked police to issue a trespass notice to a person from a Mission Road address.
A man at 10 a.m. reported fraudulent use of his credit card over the internet.
A school official at 10:26 a.m. reported an 18-year-old female student possessed marijuana at Homer High School. Police issued the student a felony summons for possession of drugs on school grounds.
An official at 11:33 a.m. reported someone tried to siphon gas from a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service car at the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center.
A caller at 12:53 p.m. reported a man made disturbing statements at an Ocean Drive Loop address.
A caller at 1:45 p.m. reported drug activity at a Sterling Highway work site.
A caller at 4 p.m. reported 20 to 30 illegal aliens working on the pipeline on Tall Tree Road.
A caller at 4:50 p.m. reported a woman ranting then sitting outside in her car for several hours near a Lake Street building. The woman left before police responded.
A man at 5:27 p.m. reported fraudulent use of his credit card over the Internet.
March 6
Police at 2:15 a.m. made a security check of the Homer Post Office and contacted a man. Police told the man he would be charged with criminal trespass if he was found sleeping in the post office again.
A caller at 5:29 p.m. reported a person harassing customers at an Ocean Drive Loop business.
Police at 7:08 p.m. contacted a 30-year-old man passed out drunk at a Sterling Highway business and arrested him for violating conditions of release for consuming alcohol.
Multiple callers at 7:57 p.m. reported seeing flares over Kachemak Bay. Police determined the Air National Guard was doing training.
March 7
A man at 4:30 a.m. reported a plugged culvert and water threatening a residence on Early Spring Street. Police notified Public Works.
A caller at 10:10 a.m. reported items taken from an East End Road business.
A man at 12:30 p.m. turned in a wallet he found on Bartlett Street.
A caller at 3:33 p.m. reported forced entry of a business on East End Road. Police responded.
A man at 5:15 p.m. reported flooding due to a blocked culvert on Rochelle Road.
March 8
Police at 2:58 p.m. served a protective order on a person at a Herndon Drive address.
A caller at 4:42 p.m. reported cars parked on West Hill Road and causing a hazard. Police responded but could not find any cars.
A caller at 9:49 p.m. reported a dog sitting next to a car in an East End Road parking lot since 2 p.m. with no owner in sight. Police responded and found the dog to be OK, but could not coax it out with treats from under a car. Police were unsuccessful in contacting the owner. Police left a message with the animal control officer.
March 9
A caller at 10:10 a.m. reported an eagle acting suspiciously near Mile 3.5 Homer Spit Road.
A caller at 12:05 p.m. reported a domestic dispute at a Kachemak Drive home. Police responded and arrested a 26-year-old woman for assault.
A woman at 1:55 p.m. reported damage to a car from rocks at a Lake Street address.
A man at 5:10 p.m. reported parked cars on West Hill Road causing a hazard.
March 10
Police at 12:06 a.m. assisted EMTs in responding to a Skyline Drive address.
A woman at 12:49 a.m. asked police to do a security patrol of her Fairview Avenue property because someone might be stealing her firewood. Police later did a security patrol.
A woman at 1:45 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on her son at a Bunnell Avenue address. Police contacted the son and determined he was OK.
A woman at 8:07 p.m. reported receiving harassing phone calls. Police advised the woman of her options.
Troopers
March 1
Alaskas State Troopers at 2:15 p.m. went to a report of a drunk woman near the intersection of North Fork Road and the Sterling Highway in Anchor Point. Troopers arrested a 30-year-old Anchor Point woman for disorderly conduct. She was taken to the Homer Jail.
March 3
Troopers at 9:12 p.m. received a “report every dangerous driver immediately” complaint of a person driving a red Jeep Cherokee near Mile 100 Sterling Highway. The caller said the driver slowed down and sped up, drove 25 mph in a 55 mph zone, and swerved all over the road. Police stopped the suspect driver and after and investigation arrested a 26-year-old Homer woman for driving under the influence and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Troopers also seized the car pending an application for a search warrant for suspicion of controlled substances.
March 3
Troopers at 5:10 p.m. went to a report of a disturbance near Mile 141 Sterling Highway in Ninilchik. Troopers contacted a 37-year-old Ninilchik man alleged to be extremely drunk and arrested him for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, and violating conditions of parole.
