A caller at 8:55 a.m. made a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) report about a vehicle at East End Road and Kachemak Drive. An officer went to the area.
Multiple callers at 11:09 a.m. reported that a vehicle went off the road at Mile 5 Kachemak Drive. Officers responded to the location.
A caller at 2:55 p.m. reported a theft in progress on Hazel Avenue. Officers went to the scene and arrested a 20-year-old man for fourth-degree theft.
A caller at 3:23 p.m. requested help from an officer on Clayton Way. An officer went to the area.
An officer at 3:25 p.m. observed a man driving with a revoked license at Heath Street and Hazel Avenue but was unable to contact him because he was diverted to another call.
A caller at 5:07 p.m. reported a vehicle collision at Ocean Drive and Douglas Place that had caused damage. An officer responded to the scene.
A caller at 6 p.m. reported a shoplifter on Greatland Street. An officer went to the location and arrested a 20-year-old man for fourth-degree theft and for violating conditions of release.
A caller at 7:39 p.m. reported suspicious activity on East End Road. An officer responded to the location and found the report was unfounded.
July 12
A caller at 4:40 a.m. reported finding hypodermic needles left in a public bathroom at Bartlett Street and Pioneer Avenue. An officer went to the scene and removed the needles.
An officer at 1:07 p.m. attempted to serve an arrest warrant on April Place but was unable to locate the subject of the warrant.
A caller at 3:34 p.m. reported smelling marijuana coming from a vehicle in a parking lot on Ben Walters Road. An officer went to the location and found the report was unfounded.
A caller at 3:52 p.m. reported seeing a black bear in a campground off the Sterling Highway. Officers responded to the location but could not locate the bear.
An officer at 9:51 p.m. warned a driver for driving with expired registration at Skyline Drive and Katie Jean Circle.
July 13
An officer at 3:23 a.m. arrested a 20-year-old woman on Main Street on an arrest warrant for failing to appear in court and took her to the Homer Jail.
An officer at 5:21 a.m. assisted the Homer Volunteer Fire Department with their initial response to a residential structure fire on Main Street.
A caller at 6:35 a.m. reported seeing a female driver “passed out” in a parking lot on the Sterling Highway for over two hours. An officer went to the scene and contacted the woman.
A caller at 10:32 a.m. reported a vehicle collision that caused an injury at Main Street and Pioneer Avenue. Officers and members of the Homer Volunteer Fire Department went to the scene.
A caller at 4:13 p.m. requested a welfare check on another person on Bishop’s Beach. An officer went to the scene.
A caller at 5:29 p.m. reported a domestic issue at a home on Waddell Avenue. An officer went to the scene and discovered it was a verbal argument only.
A caller at 5:59 p.m. reported a person possibly operating a business at Mile 3 Spit Road without the proper permits and permission from the property owner. An officer responded to the scene.
An officer at 10:43 p.m. contacted a 27-year-old man on Pioneer Avenue and arrested him on a warrant for failing to appear in court. The man was taken to the Homer Jail.
A caller at 11:22 p.m. reported a disturbance on White Alder Court happening after “reasonable quiet hours.” An officer went to the area and contacted the people making the disturbance.
July 14
An officer at 12:42 p.m. made a security check on Ben Walters Lane and warned a person for misuse of license plates. The officer confiscated the plates.
A caller at 1:27 p.m. reported a suspicious person at a business on West Bunnell Avenue. An officer responded to the scene.
A caller at 2:37 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Ocean Driver and Lake Street that was heading toward the Homre Spit. An officer went to the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.
A caller at 3:16 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Lake Street and Homer Bypass Road. An officer contacted the driver and did not note any impairment.
A caller at 7:03 p.m. reported a possible drug transaction on East Bunnell Avenue. Officers went to the scene. The caller said the vehicles involved left the area before officers got there. Officers later contacted the subjects in question at a nearby home.
A caller at 7:44 p.m. reported intoxicated people stumbling near the roadway on Homer Bypass Road. An officer contacted the people and provided them with a ride.
A person at 11:36 p.m. flagged down an officer on Kachemak Drive to report criminal mischief. An officer went to the scene.
A caller at 11:45 p.m. reported a person making threats on Kachemak Drive. Officers responded to the scene.
July 15
A caller at 3:24 p.m. reported that a baby moose was stuck in a fence on East Fairview Avenue. An officer went to the scene.
A caller at 9:04 p.m. reported two “younger looking males” attempting to break into a local business on Spit Road. Officers responded to the scene, contacted the two men and found the report was unfounded.
A caller at 11:22 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle on Homer Bypass Road. An officer contacted the driver and didn’t discover any impairment.
A caller at 11:39 p.m. reported a suspicious man at a business on West Bunnell Avenue. Officers went to the location and attempted to contact the man, but were unable to find him.
July 16
A caller at 12:05 a.m. reported a commercial vehicle without headlights in the roadway at Mile 171 Sterling Highway. An officer escorted the vehicle to a safe turnout.
An officer at 12:22 a.m. contacted people camping in vehicles on private property off the Sterling Highway. The officer advised them about camping laws and told them to move along.
An officer at 4:55 a.m. made a traffic stop at Mile 169 Sterling Highway. The officer arrested a 30-year-old man for driving under the influence and took him to the Homer Jail.
A caller at 2:08 p.m. made a REDDI report about a vehicle at Mile 3 Spit Road. An officer went to the area.
A caller at 5:40 p.m. reported a vehicle crash on Homer Bypass Road that had caused damage. An officer responded to the area.
A caller at 5:50 p.m. reported possible gunfire at a business on Kachemak Drive. An officer went to the location.
An officer at 6:44 p.m. gave a driver a traffic warning at Mile 4 Spit Road.
A caller at 9:44 p.m. reported an ongoing issue involving a dog barking for “hours at a time” near her home on Bartlett Street. An officer went to the area to attempt to talk with the animal owner and resolve the issue. The officer was unable to find the property owner.
July 17
An officer at 3:29 a.m. made a traffic stop on Ohlson Lane and arrested a 24-year-old man for violating conditions of his release. The man was brought to the Homer Jail.
Troopers
July 15
Alaska Wildlife Troopers issued a citation to a 35-year-old Anchorage man for sport fishing without a current 2018 sport fish license. Bail is set at $210 in the Homer Court.
July 16
Alaska Wildlife Troopers issued a citation to a 42-year-old Ninilchik man for aiding his clients in failing to log their halibut while on a charter trip. Bail is set at $110 in the Homer Court.
