Nelda C. Wythe passed away March 27, 2014, in Port Townsend, Wash. She was born March 25, 1936, in Terre Haute, Ind., and moved to Homer with her parents and brother in 1945. She graduated from Homer High School in 1954. She attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the University of Washington and Clairmont College in California. She taught school in Fairbanks and was also a teacher/administrator in Anchorage.
Upon retiring she and companion Doris Sarrio moved to Port Townsend, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Violet Wythe, and brother Ted Wythe, all of Homer. Surviving relatives are nephews Chris, John and Steve Wythe, their spouses and great nieces and nephews, Katelyn, Kevin, Daryl, Danielle, Bradly and Rebecca Wythe. Internment will be in Hickerson Memorial Cemetary during the summer.
