Andrew Keith “Andy” Nelson, 76, of Clovis, N.M., died Friday, Oct. 9, 2015. “He went to be with the Lord,” his family said.
Cremation has taken place.
Andy was born April 20, 1939, in Tacoma, Wash. When he was 6-years-old his parents moved to Anchorage. Alaska was his home the majority of his life except for the last few years. He and his wife, Karol, owned and operated several businesses in Anchor Point, including a grocery store, lumber yard, hardware store and furniture store. His wife, Karol, was Postmaster in Anchor Point for 25 years.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Marjorie Nelson; and his only sibling, Arlene McGhuey.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Karol Nelson; their two sons and spouses, Keith and Cedy Nelson and Nick and Karen Nelson; daughter and her husband, Kelley and Benny Yruegas; nine grandchildren and two great~grandchildren.
Andy’s remains are being taken to Alaska, the place where his heart always was, by his daughter and ex-wife for a memorial, with his two sons and their families, who still live there.
